You get one FA to improve the offense. I will also state that you still can draft other offensive players.

But Free Agents on the street Sammy Watkins or Jimmy Graham who do you want to see in a Saints Uniform next year?

What's the cost? Just kidding.

Graham
+ fills the need of a receiver down the seam
+ good 3rd down option, fits perfectly with Thomas and kamara
+ knows the system, so learning curve won't be as steep
- limited athleticism compared to before
- won't be dominant at any point like before
- still cannot block, predictable offense

Watkins
+ likely only need to be a WR3, pairs well with Ginn and thomas
+ athleticism is still there
+ fills a role that we need on the offense, upside is very high
- health is a huge issue, dependability is a concern
- football iq matters, new offense and its a steep learning curve
- doesn't fix the 3rd down issues

Go with Graham. Draft a te and wr. Profit.

I don't want Graham back, with or without Watkins being in the picture.

Easily Graham. We've missed his red zone presence and ability to grab attention over the seams since he left.

I'm cool with Ginn for another year or two and would rather draft a WR or wait instead of grabbing Watkins.

If you had paid attention to our recent red zone passing game, you'd smack yourself for saying this.

Jimmy isn't sealing the edge on a run

That is an issue, but I think that it can be addressed outside of bringing Graham back.

He had a little stretch of injury there but so rd graham. Watkins is younger than mike Thomas. Imagine defenses having to account for him on top of our other weapons. We need a WR that scares a defense. Watkins would go nuts with Brees

Watkins easily. If he stays healthy, with Drew Brees he’d kill it here.

You guys need to look at this objectively. Where Jimmy struggled in his last year here was when he got double or triple covered in the middle of the field.

Do that now? Mike Thomas is going to put up 150 yards a game, at least. Mike Thomas is currently abusing double coverage in most situations. You can't double cover both and leave no safety help for Ted Ginn.

The plays that Sean would throw at defenses with Thomas, Graham, and Ginn with Kamara in the backfield would break people. Bringing in Watkins gives you some of what Thomas already does, and some of what Ginn already does.

I think people are really underestimating Graham based on his time with the Seahawks. He was a perfect fit in the Saints offense, and not a good fit in the Seahawks which were why his numbers dropped.

Despite all of that, he still caught 10 TDs last year, and did so despite the Seahawks OL being awful and him having to block more than he needs to.

Graham is basically an oversized WR that adds a dimension that the team doesn't have at all, and will be a better value.

We have plenty of WR talent. We need a tall red zone target.
