I’m actually curious
Let me first say, it’s obvious you need a quarterback to win in this league.
But at first glance, I didn’t think I’d like it. After looking more into it, I wouldn’t HATE it.
5 years
42-37
3 playoff appearances
1 Super Bowl

2016 Carson Wentz = meh (7-9)
2017 Nick Foles = meh (13-3 SB)
2018 Foles/Wentz = meh (PLAYOFF)
2019 Wentz/McCown = meh (PLAYOFF)
2020 Wentz/Hurts = meh/Rookie QB (4-11)

What say you?

Well we have plenty of meh at QB so maybe we will win a super bowl.

Not if, and when, Dennis Allen leaves. His defenses kept NO in games they had no business being in with a struggling offense.

We need a QB and a couple of WRs before he'd make an impact.

Don't think it was all Pederson's doing especially on offense
I would stay clear of the typical retread

I like Allen. But the Saints defensive improvement over the past 6 years is largely due to the acquisition finally of better talent. Allen is to be given credit for that in part, but he has overseen poor defensive teams when talent is low. And there were games this year where the defense didn’t show up against not the greatest offenses.

I think there are certainly other DCs who would have success with the talented roster in place. So if hiring a “better” HC means you lose Allen so be it.

They also blew it plenty of times when the offense was good.

Wouldn't necessarily hate the hire, but would hate it if he comes in and trades for Wentz to be the future QB for the next 10+ years.

I would absolutely hate the hire unless he’s bringing Frank Reich along as his OC.

I don't know that I would love it but he is a proven Head Coach which gives a leg up on nearly everyone.

I would be pretty excited personally. They had some bad seasons after the SB win but so did we?

People try to say that Reich gets the credit for Wentz, but he's been garbage still since he got back to being with Reich.

I want an offensive HC. I think there are probably more "young" options out there that probably would be better, but I like the idea of Pederson better than someone like Flores or maybe even Allen.

Allen is overrated. He has a huge about of talent now, and that is what has helped him succeed. Previous coaches never had this much talent, especially at the DB positions and DL.

I am not saying Allen isn't a good coach, but the lovefest with him is a bit overblown. Hell, think back to 2018 and 2019. How many times has his defense blown huge games at the end? Plenty.

I think your DL is the key for the Saints, and that will continue the success there even without Allen.

Yes, he’s not a fit for the current players. They would not accept him. His religious views would not go over well with them.

He’s overrated. The Eagles won the Super Bowl in spite of him.

If we don’t hire Allen, Pederson would be a good next choice

I know he won a Super Bowl, but I’d consider it a recycled/meh hire.

I’d rather either stick with Allen or go young and exciting with Glenn over taking Pederson.

IMHO
