I think they are scary enough, because they have individual guys that can make a play to dictate the game for them...

But one thing that has come up, is their inability to get TDs down in the red zone ever since Cupp went down. They have been near the bottom of the league in turns of TD%. If we can just do our job down in the RZ against them defensively, and in turn capitalize on our RZ trips, it would do wonders in making them one dimensional.

Eddie Lacy in a CJ Anderson jersey doesn't scare me.

Me either. Was more talking about Gurley since he had over 5 yards a carry before they abandoned the run game the first time.

I think McVay will try to stick to the run more, and if that helps convert a couple of more first downs it could start wearing down our defense.

Why do you think anything from the regular season matters? None of this matters

You thought we’d beat philly by 3 TDs. Why?

You’ve picked basically every matchup incorrectly based off irrelevant reg season.
Ravens over chargers - nope
Colts over chiefs - nope
Ravens over Pats- nope
Colts over ravens - not gonna happen nope
Seahawks over cowboys - nope
Bears over eagles - nope
Bears over rams - nope

Seriously, do you concede any matchup in this game or just think we are superior across the field? There are positive and negative matchups for both sides. It’s an essentially a pick em in Vegas.

Contain Gurley
Defensively put LA down and distances that neutralize Gurley's impact
Dont turn the ball over
Their WRs arent enough on their own to dominate a game against the better teams in the NFL.

Aside from the obvious injuries and turnovers changing the complexion of a game, a lot will be predicated on:

1) How the refs let them play. If the Rams secondary are allowed the same physical leeway as the Cowboys, we are in trouble. I would imagine Donald will be lined up over Peat most of the game and if Drew can't get the ball out quickly, I don't think Peat will hold up. Giving Drew time in the pocket helps, but he doesn't need it. It is when his WRs can't get separation is really when he struggles. Get early pressure AND have our WRs struggle TO GET separation is when we have games like the Cowboys.

2) Getting off the field on 3rd down. I am not so much worried about shutting down Gurley or Anderson. They can get yards and we will be fine; however generally speaking when a team is able to gash another team with the run, they sustain drives by picking up the thirds and short/medium. Yard totals for RBs are as important as getting stops on 3rd down.

If the game is called moderately to even, I like our chances. If we force the Rams to have to gun it to stay in the game, I like our chances. If we can't get separation AND have early pressure, our offense will struggle. If we can get off the field, particularly due to the Rams running game, we are in trouble.

Good stuff as always bone

Another thing to not with Talib while the media is hyping him up, he’s faced Philly, Bears, 49ers, Cowboys and Cardinals. Not exactly world beaters

Stats are great. Thanks for the info, but have you been watching the games? This is going to be a rough Sunday afternoon!

By the stats, we dominated the Eagles in the first half & were loosing.

It’s pretty simple, really. Contain Gurley/Anderson and the Saints will win. Easier said than done

Well if last week's performance is how Lattimore plays when he's hurt, he needs to be hurt more often.

They had a pretty soft schedule this year while we had one of the toughest in the league.

I like to think of it this way, as of the last time we played

-Sheldon Rankins
-Ben Watson
-Cooper Kupp
+Ted Ginn
+Eli Apple (he did play against the Rams but it was his first game as a Saint)
+Marcus Davenport
+Aqib Talib
+CJ Anderson

Imo, that edge goes to the Saints. Losing Kupp & adding Apple makes the Rams fairly one dimensional, one very good dimension, but one dimensional. So the way to beat the Saints will be on the ground. And even though we lost Rankins, we have been one of the toughest run defenses all year.

As for Talib, he is a very good corner, but he's also going up against an elite combo in Brees & MT13. I also expect one of Ginn, Trequan, Carr, or Taysum to have big games. Hill only rushed the ball twice in our first meeting with LAR.

According to PFF, the Saints are the best rated team remaining. The Rams are a close second, then the Chiefs, and Pats

Plenty of smart national media folks have been picking NOLA to progress.

We gonna see.

It's pretty simple - just score. Get Thomas and Kamara involved early (and often). Let defense do the rest. A turnover or 2 would help.

Not scary but a worthy opponent.
We can’t expect this to be an easy one.
The idea of a field goal to win is stressful but makes it that much more magical

The Rams were 2nd in DVOA and 6th in weighted DVOA this season, but "bonethug0199234879" did some shallow +/- analysis so I guess they suck. Nice job

Where did I once say they suck or they aren't good?

I was simply pointing out that they made their rep by beating up crap teams (Chargers aside), and mostly earlier in the year when they had Kupp.

Yes they still won against some good teams, but it's clear the better the team the closer the score was. They weren't blowing out playoff caliber teams. They were blowing out the Cards and 9ers.

But we'll see Sunday who the better team is, and I firmly believe that is us, just like it was last Sunday.

They only beat the Cowboys by 8 at home while knowing exactly what their Dline was doing all game.

With how often the Cowboys use stunts, it left huge holes for the run all game (you can down block the guy trying to cut in and completely ignore the guy running the outside loop, basically leaving the back running into the secondary untouched unless the LB beats the Olineman's block), and also kept Goff from being pressured (one pressure all game).

With that huge advantage they should have won by a lot more, but despite not being pressured (outside of the one blitz by Smith) Goff had a shite game (15/28 for 53.6%, 186 yards, no TDs, and a 74.4 QB rating).

I mean Dak far outplayed him (20/32 for 62.5%, 266 yards, 1 TD, and a 99.2 QB rating), which should tell you how poorly that D played against the pass despite holding Elliot to 47 yards at 2.3 ypc and knowing Dallas needed to pass.

There were SOME things they did well against the Cowboys, but others they did extremely poorly, and that was with the huge advantage of knowing what Dallas' Dline was doing on over 90% of the plays.

We play Sunday and we'll see what bears fruit.
