Why did we not resign Alex Anzalone a few years ago

He's killing it tonight in Detroit. He was always solid.

he is starting for the Lions for a reason.

Basically missed 2 of his 4 seasons here

Couldn’t keep him because of the “non existent” salary cap

He signed with the lions for 1 year and less than $2mm. We drafted Pete Werner to replace him. He’s been healthy in Detroit and has done well. Werner has worked out as well. Win-win.

Curious why this was downvoted. Played in 4 games rookie year, 16 in year 2, 2 games in year 3, 16 in year 4.
Also had injury issues in college, team didn’t want to risk it. He went to Det and has basically been healthy since

The most Saints post I've seen in awhile.

2 years ago on Saints talk,
"Analzone is the most useless player on the roster. Gawd I can't believe we keep drafting slugs that can't be healthy.

A pattern as old as time.

For every decent or great play he would make, he would screw up 5 plays. He was very inconsistent. I think not being able to fall on the ball in the end zone against KC a few years ago that would have been a TD for the Saints was the last draw. He was right on top of it & somehow let it go by him.

He struggled in the playoff loss to Tampa after we lost Kwon for the year.

He sucks that's why. Don't like 1-2 games fool you

Detroit has the better “anal zone.”

Hard to complain about the LB's currently.

constantly hurt.
Pretty good player when healthy tho.

He couldn't complete the easiest fumble recovery in NFL history against the Chiefs which would eventually cost us the game.

He’s just one of those it is what it is type of things.
He would’ve never stayed healthy and did that with us. I feel like he could be an all pro/best player from our 2017 draft. The talent there.
He just didn’t and never will put it all together.
