What's up with the 49er hate?

I understand they beat us last week, but I am completely baffled by the hate. Cowboys and Falcons I understand, but can someone please explain the hatred and anger toward the 49ers?
I guess I don't just hate a team simply because they beat us.

I'd assume most older saints fans for the beatings we took at their hands and some of our best teams playing 2nd fiddle to them. Id understand that

Because Jim Harbaugh is a jerk and his team are a bunch of thugs and gangsters. He instills a toughness, but they cheat and make late and hard head to head hits. Tonight they were holding their butts off and didn't get called for it once.
The late hit on the punt return that injured the Giant #39 was a joke and typical of a Jim Harbaugh coached team. They try to hurt players not just play hard.
I'm so glad the Giants and Eli beat them and so glad they had the turnovers so they could see what it felt like.

Yeah I remember going 13-3 and the Niners went 14-2 and won the division. If we're in any other division that year we win it hands down. I hate the Niners.

seriously, between #10 fricking up the two returns and Mr. Dreadlocks fricking up two interceptions (one of which he took out his own player), I had many a chuckles watching this game.
I didn't really care who won though. As long as the 9ers or the g-men beat the pats, I don't care.

Absolutely agree.
As far as the 80's go, it was frustrating to lose to the 49er's, but those teams won Superbowls, had great players and were well coached. It was a great organization.
Today? I don't like Harbaugh or some of the fans, but they aren't any worse than some other a-hole teams around the league.

Absolutely! There were some pretty good Saints teams during those years who would have probably made playoffs if not for being in their division. We were totally neutralized by SF year in and year out.

Yeah the fans douchebaggery all season long is ridiculous. I can buy that. The 80's rivalry I can somewhat buy, but not really. We haven't had a rivalry with them in years, and even so it wasn't a hateful one even in the 80's.
