Ill defend the OP its a legitimate question. An NFL season w Brees in his prime is a very special thing. We may be wasting this one.

I kind of compare him to Coldplay. Really great at what they do, but not "cool" anymore so they get tons of hate.

In this analogy, Stephen A. Smith would be Nickelback, Rick Reilly would be Aerosmith, and Klosterman would be Arcade Fire.

Vilma should take a 5 week suspension.

This would work well for the team, but would Vilma want to forego 5 weeks of pay?

I have a feeling unless it's cut to 2 or less than there will be no deal.
You need to change your avatar. That one sucks and is 0-1.

I don't mind the designs on the NBA store (especially the black with pinstripes), however they all have those horrendously dorky long floppy sleeves that hang down past your elbow. Why do I spend over 10 hours a week at the downtown Milwaukee Gold's Gym working on my pipes if they're to be covered up by an ill fitting shirt?

No way anybody can look good in those. I wish these team apparel providers would start making fitted polos that people under 45 years old could wear.
Obviously a huge game for the Saints considering how solid the ATL looked in a tough road venue this past Sundy.

Monday Night Football - ESPN

Line - Atlanta by 3

I didn't see much of Atlanta's game but I did see the Broncos/Steelers game. I really want to pick Denver in this spot, but I feel like the game is a complete tossup.

Will the Saints be 2 games back of the Falcons, or in a flat-footed tie come this time next Tuesday?

This game was in a dome. I was in shock after the first 2 series, he was like 1/5 and RG3 was perfect.

His protection sucked, his receivers weren't getting open. He still put the balls where they could/should have been caught to keep the drives going. Not evey time obviously but at least one time each series.
I can't believe his passer rating this game was worse than Cleveland.

IMO he played decent on Sunday. Was the victim of a ton of drops.

He flat out sucked in the Cleveland game. He was literally a shell of his former self.
Oh Jesus you and your gay Boise state. Have you ever even been to Idaho?
I never said he had a bad game.

Shouldnt you have been watching the greatriots anyways?

Also interesting that each of these teams has an "s" in their nicknames

This is what Bill Simmons said on the Friday edition of PTI. And that the overturned suspensions were one more distraction.
I don't really watch the line enough to see much more than whether or not they're "winning" or "getting push".

Once the initial surge is done I put all of my attention on the QB or RB, etc. I only peripherally watch the lineplay to begin with.

It seems like both Redskins lines absolutely disgraced both of our lines today. Which really sucks.

I was under the impression that our O-Line would be as good as last season, and that our D-Line would be able to harass RGIII under a patchwork Redskins O-line.
Dude, we abondoned the run from the opening gun.

First series - three incomplete passes

Series after 49ers regained the lead - three incomplete passes

Horrendous playcalling - and it's a trend. We need to stick to the run even if it's a "run-like" call such as a screen. I count screens as runs.
quote:

I cringe when he takes carries from Thomas. I don't know why this staff is so insistent on Ingram taking carries. He really does nothing better than Thomas and Thomas adds another layer in the screen game. Thomas has more power than Ingram too, IMO.

Agreed, but we need to save PT for huge games like Packers, Falcons, 49ers IMO.

Let Ingram shoulder some of the load and punishment.
quote:

In a Baltimore/San Fran/Jax type offense, Ingram would be a great fit as he would get the lion share of carries.

I agree with this 100%. I think we WANT to run but our playcallers have no bloody discipline. They abandon the run at the drop of a hat. Payton had ONE good year of playcalling in 2009 and then reverted to old form due to injuries in 2010.
Ingram only got like 4 carries today.

PT needs 12-15 touches a game
Sproles needs 12-15 touches a game
Ingram needs at least 10-12 touches per game.

I hate this 80% passing shite. I hated 2007 and 2008 and I didn't love last year as much as most of yall did. frick passing records - let's pound the rock and CONTROL THE TEMPO LIKE WE DID IN 2009. Give our defense a break.
Given what we have invested in these three guys it seems like we don't get much bang for our buck with them.

I'm mostly ignorant about line play - does anybody know what the problem is? It seems like all have the size and strength, but do they just lack the motor or the ability to be above average NFL linemen?

Even with Gregg Williams' insane blitz schemes they still never really got rolling as far as sacks, fumbled forced, etc. So how do we really expect them to get pressure and contain an RGIII or a Cameron Newton with only a 4 man rush?
Yeah the Packers game is almost identical to ours with the flow and scoring trend of the game.

Finally when the home crowd gets back into it the all-world QB throws the worst pass of the day and ruins it.

I'll defend him he wasn't that bad on the postgame. Said we'll fix it, gave credit to the Redskins, etc.

I've actually like what I've seen and heard from him in interviews, which is why I was so surprised to see what a huge pussy he looked like on the sideline today.
If we really kick the Panthers arse I promise I'll be fine.

Honestly I don't see how we do that though. I realize they look like shite against TB but I doubt they'll be anything but solid against us.
Man I just went for a long walk with my dog and I was remembering how it wasn't that long ago that I was watching our defense against Arizona and got excited at how great our Dline looked.

Feel so stupid for caring about preseason, but i mean I think we all though that this would be similar to the turnaround we was in 2009 under new coordinator.
