If not Wilson, I actually like Baker Mayfield. I think a change of scenery in CSP’s offense would turn his career around

Well he'll according to the majority of the board we should give up our next 20 first round picks for Russell or Rodgers.

Me personally I'd ride with jameis for another year. He was 5-2 with 14 touchdowns and 3 interceptions

Several people, myself included, have pointed out, due to Wilson’s no trade clause and publicly stated preference for the Saints, that it MIGHT be possible to get him here without breaking the bank. Now maybe some idiots on this board might prefer not to explore that chance. That would be incredibly short sighted in my opinion. If Seattle refuses to budge and demands too much, you quickly move on. I still think the most likely scenario is the Saints resigning Jameis. That is perfectly ok with me and I think we are a playoff team with him at QB. But to not explore the possibility of acquiring a top 10 QB in this league is stupid.

I also think it’s very unlikely Jameis will agree to another one year deal. Some team (he is a free agent) is going to offer him a multi-year deal. So the thought that we will be able to just get Winston to play here on another one year deal is overly optimistic.

i don't know what to make of being 60mil over the cap. is that right? i guess it would depend on who we can afford. i think winston is the best choice if he signs another prove it deal.

Run it back with Winston and make getting weapons around him a priority.

I really believe that the chemistry Jameis has with the rest of the team is in invaluable. If you aim to trade for a QB in the offseason, you'd go for a huge upgrade like Wilson not someone in the same tier.

I personally think the team gets more value keeping the draft picks that they'd have to trade away for another QB.

Who do you think the Saints could get that you believe would do the job?

Jameis Winston. Next question.

To be fair, Derek Carr is a pretty good QB.

This is the guy...Accurate, big body, smart, competitive.

He's got the potential, with the right coach, to be the next Brees. (situation is similar to Brees with San Diego, sans injury, regarding coaching and team dynamics)

If the saints can get him, he's a slam dunk.

trubisky

Behind the big names, I think he would be a sneaky dark horse. The bears were a disaster. He’s looked decent. His year in Buffalo has been a good transition to stability.

With taysom not being a reliable candidate, jameis and Mitch might be a viable camp battle

If you're talking straight free agent QBs, Winston is the best FA QB this year and it's not even close. Teddy is probably #2.

Trade-wise, there was talk of Carr being available, but I think Gruden was behind that. I'm not so sure thats the case anymore. Garropolo is probably available because the 49ers have a replacement already and they've show a willingness to deal players. Rogers and Wilson are probably not as available as we would like. My dream scenario would be for Watson to resolve his issues and the Saints trade for him.

Our QBs will be Jameis, Mitch Trubisky and Blake Bortles next year ... that way we can be the first team with the #1, #2 and #3 picks from different drafts at QB

Do people think Winston is coming cheap? It's not happening.

Rodgers
Wilson
Carr

You do everything reasonably possible to get one. If not then you're down to Mitch, Baker, Jimmy, etc. I'd say stick with Winston at that point.

But people need to get real, JW is gonna want $20mm range.
