Personally I don't think he can get the players 100% behind him. DA has never won 3 in a row. It's a consistent up and down and it's something the players notice.

he has absoultely no control over the team.

The death stroke for me was last year when Winston audibled to get that TD for Williams and Allen didn't take any accountability at all for it.

Not only are you saying your players don't trust you at all, you then apologize to the frickin Falcons coach for it

He has the personality of a wet sock.

Everytime he says something it feels like it reads out of a "football for dummies" book.

He throws the blame on everyone else.

It’s tough to pin it down to certain things without getting to see him coach up close for awhile. You’d have to shadow him to give a concrete answer, really.

I think it’s clear though that players may like him, but they don’t respect him. He’s not a dominant personality that can keep guys in line. I know people bring up the team decision thing a lot and they should. His football team neutered him on live TV.

Does anyone know the circumstances when he was head coach of Raiders where players went to the owner about him? Read it happened but never saw any details.

Has the defense been bad before the injuries? How is he a bad coach if our defense been rather consistent in recent years ?

"Um...its a lot of things you know, do your job, prepare the right way and uh look um its not like we are not competing. I mean really, when you look at it we just need to finish better like I said. Um...I mean yeah if that answers your question?"

He's not a motivator.

He doesn't inspire average players to play above their capacity.

He does not inspire above average players to play to their potential.

I'm not certain of how he would coach elite players because we don't have any elite players on the Saints roster but if the evidence is to be believed of the former categories then you to must believe that he would also not positively affect elite players either.

I know someone who worked as an asst on a team where they both coached before his Saints stint. . What he told me was that the guy was very good at designing a game plan. He was absolutely atrocious at in game decisions and making changes to his plan. He also would develop personal grudges against players for things unrelated to on field performance and seemingly used that to keep them off the field. This seems to be the same thing happenng with the Saints under him.

As far back as I can remember he sucks at coaching defense while trying to protect the lead near the end of a game. This past time was again Atlanta. You gotta stress to your players not to draw flags when you're dropping deep.

I'll be the outlier here and say that he isn't a bad coach though he is probably to a really good head coach either. He has taken two head coaching jobs in organizations that are\were poorly managed at the time he took them and he does not have the personality to take the bull by the horns and force some competency. He is also not a guy who can get the most out of marginal players.

That makes him a mediocre head coach who is coaching marginal players (as a whole despite having a few players who are better than that) so he looks like an awful head coach. And I want him gone

The only thing I feel comfortable saying he does well is coach up a secondary. As HC he is a few layers away from doing that directly. His personality sucks and he clearly doesn't have players that believe in him.

If he wasn't on staff for years when CSP left there's 0% chance he would have gotten the job, which should piss everyone off even more.

DA is obviously not “the guy”. But this roster is even worse. Horrible from top to bottom
