Letting Brees stay instead of cutting him loose and picking up Brady. We would have two more Super Bowl wins.

I cant remember alot of the moves, but i think letting Darren Sproles get away was big mistake.

I never understood the Derek Carr signing.
Even in DA's first year as Saints coach the Saints kicked the shite out of the Raiders with Carr at QB. It was so bad the Raiders pulled him from the game, and they didn't even cross midfield until the 4th quarter.
but then the Raiders let Carr go and really there weren't any other serious teams in the mix to sign him besides the Saints.
just like Carr's camp was trying to float that there were teams interested in him after he retired. But not a single team was actually named. Funny how that works out huh?

Jets and Pathers were the 2 teams prominently named. Carr was supposedly plan B if they missed out on Rodgers.

I was talking about after he retired from the Saints. Allegedly teams were talking to him.
but you're right I do remember the Jets now being linked to him. My guess is the Saints were the only team to offer him a deal though; Carolina had the #1 pick and the Jets wanted Rodgers. Can't fault the Jets for wanting Rodgers over Carr.

Davenport was a really good player. His problem was injuries. Payton Turner was a much worse pick as he had no contribution where Davenport make several big plays when he played.
The answer is keeping Allen, but if you go player wise, I’m going to say resigning Peat. Because we resigned Peat, we didn’t have enough money to sign Von Bell or Hendrickson. Peat gave us a player that got Brees hurt and cost us at least two good defensive players.

That draft where he went Stephone Anthony at 31, Kikaha at 44 and I believe Garrett Grayson in the 3rd round was a complete tire fire

Signing Davenport and letting Hendrickson walk. May not be the biggest mistake but it is one that still irks me the most.

Spending 2 1st round picks on Ingram, Davenport, and Olave. You should only do that on generational talents or a QB imo…
Unpopular opinion, but I also hated the Tyson pick. It’s very likely he’ll have an injury-plagued career. Hopefully I’m dead wrong

Signing Jameis Winston to replace Drew Brees. He had no plan to replace a HOF'ER.

Honestly I’d say his being aloof with the fans and media when seemingly on the hot seat with questions and criticism. As a GM part of your job whether you like it or not is being a salesman between the team and the fan base. I think Mickey does a good job of keeping the focus off of his staff but thats not the same as taking the heat to protect your people. Generally he has a “I’m smarter than you so you don’t know what you’re talking about” persona at times.
Thats not going to win fans over.
Aside from that, probably his biggest team decision mistake was being too loyal to Brees and not moving on sooner. Not many players get that when you’re trying to rebuild a franchise and really shouldn’t from the business side of it. Montana didn’t, Rice didn’t, P. Manning didn’t, nether did Brady.
I’m sure there a million things that has pissed people off but those two for me are not personal but things that set Mickey and the team back.
