You may be right. And I shouldn’t say never.

If Brees is retiring and we can get Teddy on a short term deal then yes, you do it to bridge the gap between a rookie and Brees.

Some team that misses on drafting a an they like will offer him 3 years $45 million to be a good veteran stopgap for a future young draft pick. The question will be how high the Saints will offer him to sit the bench. My guess is he leaves.

He’s not leaving New Orleans

He could’ve left and been a starter last off-season

He’ll take a 2 year 18M deal or so imo

Just depends on what Drew wants to do. Regardless we should draft a QB this year. But if Drew returns then no need for Teddy.

If he retires then 3 Years/45 million to be a stopgap and compete with Hill and Rookie would give us better than average production at a below average cost.

Just did some research and the Broncos can cut Flacco without a cap hit. Marriota is also in the final year of his contract and Dalton has a year left. I’d list his likely suitors in this order:

Broncos
Titans
Steelers
Bengals

Teddy has shown that he can be a game manager. Alex Smith won a lot of games playing that style. Match him with a good defense and you may have something.

You are not too smart. You think the Saints would be 5-0 with Tyrod Taylor at QB? If so you should never post again.

Bridgewater won’t have Michael Thomas and our OL wherever he goes if he leaves. Also AK.

He knows that. I just don’t see him leaving and I also don’t see a team throwing a ridiculous amount of cash at him.

Use him for leverage to get a better passing QB. Sooner or later he is going to blow games. Look how many times the Saints had great field position only to go backwards with Bridgewater at QB. Brees would push the opportunity down the field. Terry has managed a few games. But this is the NFL. Brady, Brees, Mahomes, push the limits.
