What changes do you expect to see in our draft strategy under Dennis Allen?

Under Sean Payton, we would always get antsy and start trading away draft choices in order to acquire one player that Sean had a mancrush on. There’s countless examples of why you don’t do this, but Sean wanted to anyway. Brandin Cooks, Cesar Ruiz, Zack Baun, Adam Trautman, Tommy Stevens, etc., etc.,.

Will we be more patient under Dennis Allen? I sure hope so. Scouting is not an exact science, and the draft is way too hit or miss for that type of bullshite.

Really is difficult to know if these types of moves were driven by Payton or Loomis/Ireland. It’s a small sample size, but what did Allen do when he was in Oak?

No more wasted 3rd-4th round picks on QBs that Payton likes because they remind him of himself.

Except for Patrick Mahommes
(Maybe the Biggest frick up in draft history)

You do know your comments about Sean Payton are considered blasphemous on this board.

I would be called an idiot, retard, dumdass, calling for me to be banned etc etc etc

For making the same post.

Hopefully the posters on this board will be more open minded to a different point of view

You are the dumbest frick on a board full of dumb fricks

You’re only open to your own dumb frick opinions

Hurrr hurrr why didn’t Sean Payton win another Super Bowl drrrrlp while also finding another HoF QB to take over Brees

You are a mental midget

People criticized Payton on here for numerous things. I thought his clock management and play calling this year were awful at times. What most on this board don’t do is blame him for the sun rising in the East like your dumb arse.

I could be dead wrong but I feel like we make less cutesy WTF picks with Allen and more big board BPA types. I hope at least. Maybe I drummed this up in my mind but I swear Sean got his rocks off to being unpredictable and tried too hard to look like a genius with obscure draft choices.

Let’s hope they go sign a W.O, O.T. R.B. and T.E. in free agency. All solid Veteran players that have stayed relatively heathy.
Then the draft will be fun. Of coarse we will need to draft a W.O. but I would like to go O.T. #1, W.O. #2, trade both 3rds get back in round 2 and get the best D.T. than load up on both interior lines.
Always have good interior guys in the later rounds.

One major difference

More grownups in the draft room

No more party atmosphere with friends and anybody else invited in

Draft day is a serious situation.

But a party atmosphere is probably why Sean Payton fricked up trading up to get Patrick Mahommes

How can you make last minute/second decisions with a parade of people coming through the draft room?

We might trade back for once to get more pics. Team has a lot of holes so getting more young talent wouldn’t be a bad thing.

are we really gonna complain about that draft? Seriously?

Yes, we got leaped, but absolutely nobody saw it coming with a prospect like lattimore (considered top 5 at the time) falling into buffalo's lap who ABSOLUTELY needed a CB.

were you gonna really trade up 1 spot to get mahomes? no.

Yeah but what about guys like Alvin Kamara, Erik McCoy, CGJ, and Paulson Adebo that be traded up for?

Yes
Absolutely trade up to get your guy that you loved.

You want a HOF QB or a HOF CB?

The excuses from this board about the worst decision in Saints history is astounding

Let’s have Drew Brees bring in his friends coming off of the golf course

And drinking buddies in the draft room

Let’s have a party

And let KC trade up from #18 (I think)

Stop the excuses

It was the biggest frick up in Saints history
