I love LSU players as much as the next guy. But Claiborne hasn't really done anything in the NFL. There's a reason he isn't playing. However...PRob sucks too. So I'd do a straight up trade or trade a 6th or 7th to see if he's any better than PRob. But I won't care if the trade never happens either.

I'd rather go after a guy like Dre Kirkpatrick.

It's hard to be good in the NFL when you never practice because of injuries.

Anyone who thinks the Saints should trade anything more than a Plaza ticket to get MC in the Dome is a squirrel.

I would love to have Mo Claiborne on our team. I know he is having his problems now but he would certainly be an improvement over #21 and we could probably get him at a bargain. I say we make a serious effort.

It shouldn't be very much, but Jerry paid to much for him to let him go that easy.

Do people not realize what the difference in a zone CB and a man-2-man CB are? Think Jason David. The guy was considered a legitimate corner in his time at Indy, but people forgot he played in a Tampa 2 scheme (zone defense) there and the Saints played man coverage. He sucked.

The same goes for the Saints when they shifted to a zone scheme in 2012 under Spags. It was an utter disaster. Very few guys are built for both types of defense, and Claiborne is a true man cover corner. P Rob was the #11 or so rated corner in the NFL in 2011 and then dropped off like crazy in 2012. It's just not a fit for some guys.

Given that the Saints play a man coverage scheme, it wouldn't be a bad thing to bring in Claiborne for a cheap trade. He's got one year on his contract left and is only paid $2.67 M next year. If he works out, the Saints could also exercise a 5th year option on him after the season.

In the end, it's a low risk, high reward option. He may suck, but it's not like it would cost that much since Dallas would eat his bonus money.

Jerry Jones had a 3rd round grade on Patrick Robinson when he came out of college, why would he have any interest in him now?

No way I give u a draft pick for him. Not only has he been a bust, but he's also been injury prone. 21 is gross so whats the worst that could happen with a straight up trade.

Hopefully PRob sucking in the NFL would be what would stop him not whatever predraft grade they gave him, then again it is Jerry Jones.

Worst starting corner in the league... seriously.

I'd trade PRob but that's it.

You can't use a 5th year option if you didn't draft the player....Only Dallas could use a 5th year option on MO

No. They don't.
You might as well jump on their "OMG He sux" circle jerk.

Yes, that's the reason he is rated LAST among qualifying CBs... because of the scheme... because no other corners are out of scheme.

He wasn't a stud even whey Ryan was in town.

He was average and showed flashes of being above average though.

Yes, I'd say he's at least worth a go, but the Boys aren't dealing him for pennies on the dime. He won't be worth the price IMO.

Even PRob has shown flashes of being average at times.
