This.

There's plenty to bitch about with the Saints, but this ain't it. Bengals were never not taking Burrow.

This is very dumb and not how the NFL works. The Bengals are not going to trade out of drafting someone viewed as a franchise QB who is FROM OHIO.

But he's from the Cincy area, this was his hometown team, and he WANTED to go there. He was going home to save "his" team. And, he has.

It's rare that the sports world aligns that way.

It is so rare that it works this way, that it did not work this way at all for Burrow either. He was born in Iowa when his dad was a coach at Iowa State. He moved to The Plains, OH when he was around 10. The plains is about 2 1/2 hours from Cincy, 3 hours from Clev & 3 hours from Pitt. I don't recall anything in his past that says he was a Bengals fan growing up and in fact during the media interview process they wondered if he would pull an Eli if Cincy drafted him. Then he later revealed he was a Clev & Saints fan growing up

Bengals were drafting Joe B. They had the 1st pick and were NOT selling it.

Get outside. Have some fun kid.

The sad thing is that you really believe there was a chance the Saints could have traded up to get him. This isn't a video game.

assumed you were joking suggesting trading Brees Kamara and Michael Thomas there’s no fricking way Cincinnati takes that trad

At the time of the Burrow draft pick they do. That was when MT had the most value

They would have gotten a top 10 QB, top 3 RB, and a top 3 receiver for a draft pick

Of course we would have never done it, Brees was too important to our fans.

Brees was 41 years old and contemplating retirement, he would retire at the end of that season. No they wouldn’t have done it are you brain dead

And it’s not a draft pick it’s the #1 pick for a potential franchise QB that just so happens to be from relatively close by. They do not trade that pick for anything short of Mahomes.

Joe was never in reach. We should have drafted Mahomes though a few years prior. We fricked that up.

Would you trade the 1st overall pick for a RB and a WR? Because throwing Drew Bree’s in there is nothing. He had 1 year left in him and would have died behind that OL. Maybe would have straight up retired.

Ditka was fired the year of that trade the next year Saints went 10-6 and won a playoff game and that was after no first pick and Jeff Blake and Williams (who was having a monster season) got hurt late in the year.

Sure I’d do a Ricky Williams style trade for Burrow. There’s just no way the Bengals do (not should they)

Without a quarterback you might as well not have a house much less worry about a garage.

Do you remember the last few years with ole noodle arm brees? I’m sure you don’t.
