As both a Saints and an LSU fan, I would have loved to see the Saints make it happen
The Bengals sucked. They were run poorly, and were a joke of a franchise. Joe Burrow was the Heisman winner at LSU, and looked incredible in 2019.
But he's from the Cincy area, this was his hometown team, and he WANTED to go there. He was going home to save "his" team. And, he has.
It's rare that the sports world aligns that way. Maybe Lebron going to Cleveland was the closest thing like that, and I really can't think of many other situations. When it happens, you don't frick around with fate, you don't consider trades. I don't think the Bengals would take the entire Saints roster and draft in exchange for that chance.
