We should actually take McCoy in the 4th

at this point youre talking about a 4 yr 4.5 mil deal.. basically the vet min. The rumor is he likely will need a knee surgery in the future and theres a chance if the surgery doesnt go well he will be done playing.
While that would suck, if you could get 2 years of play from what many consider the most talented corner in the draft... then the rest is lagniappe.

Considering he might already be out this year? 5th..
Now a medical that'll likely cut a career short?
There's still potential but that's a hard gamble.

Really sucks for that kid. It's already cost him 8 figures and if his knee is as bad as it might be may cost him his career. Hopefully a surgery gives him a few years at least.

I wonder if he could go back to college and get some NIL, at least for a year. I'd think he has some eligibility.

I wouldn't call a 4th a big gamble.

You think they’ll pay him to sit out for a year and have a surgery?

Yea Loomis once drafted an offensive lineman who didn’t even start in college in the 4th.

That one was really infuriating. Loomis has had some head scratchers.

If he’s there at 132 take him. We also have 136. Why not. The bust rate on picks that low is insanely high. Worth the chance. I’d have been cool with it at 73 but I’m good with delp. He could be special with that speed

An early 4th isn’t worth maybe getting a guy who MAY develop for a few years before his knee is done

Tremendous upside. Go for it

About 1 out of every 5 picks in the 4th is considered a hit. Even the 3rd round has about that same rate (top half of the third is better, but bottom half is actually pretty bad).
You definitely don't go into the late 3rd and on expecting to find a starter. You go in either finding someone you hope can contribute, or someone with huge issues you are taking a swing on that they can overcome them because they tend to be better talents than the others.

Absolutely a gamble worth taking but i feel like he won’t make it to 132 today.

Agree. I think he will get picked based on pure value and gambling

That's not how the Saints draft,
Take Perkins if you want to gamble.

I’d rather Scott.
And I’m feeling the Saints trade up for him, or try.

or just take him in the 6th since he’ll be there.

I figured he'd be taken, but the first fricking pick
