The Saints obviously want the trio of Taylor-Adebo-Latt on the field together, but Taylor just isn’t ready to play the slot yet. I’d prefer us stay away from a Roby trade. But Loomis is always going to try and a move a player before the drop off in play arises and that time for Roby is now. Curious to see what happens.
Update: Saints released him.

Trading him would save a good bit of cap space: His 2023 cap hit drops from $4M to $650k, his 2024 cap hit drops from $4.1M to $1.8M, and his 2025 cap hit (voided year) drops from $1.1M to $0.
But, at what cost? Because he fills a need on this team, as so many others pointed out, a team should need to overpay before the Saints would even consider a deal.

Really shocked DA is so comfortable going into the season with such little depth at corner. Even if Roby wasn’t going to start injuries always happen. Now I’m assuming it’s Yiadom who is CB4. Scary even though he looked good at times in camp. Don’t understand this move at all.
