We don't need some fantastic pro bowl TE. We just need someone with legit size (6'5", 248 lbs.) and receiving ability to run the seam.

Jared can do that. Hill and Arnold can't (Arnold was only 220 lbs. last year and Hill isn't good at running the seam).

Let Hill handle blocking and Arnold pretend he's a slimmer Jimmy playing outside the formation. Cook will do what Watson couldn't anymore last year.

Exactly those down on Cook please go watch some film. he is a gamer. Exactly what CSP needs to maximize his offense.

Go ask Drew Brees what he thinks of Cook.

The only thing stopping me from getting excited is the lack of confirmation. I like being the front runner but till we know ink touched paper nothing is certain and anything can change.

For those questioning the Go Route fit, Cook's average depth of targets on those a season ago was 20.0 yards - Brees' average depth of targets on those throws in 2018 was 21.7 yards.

It would be hard to find a better fit for Jared Cook than Drew Brees

quote:

Cook did a nice job on a few different routes:

Quick Outs: 18 catches on 24 targets, 155 yards, 6.7 YAC per rec.
Go Routes: 7 catches on 11 targets, 175 yards, 3 TDs
Crossing Routes: 9 catches on 13 targets, 177 yards, 8.1 YAC per rec.

These are all throws Brees has mastered.

Cook would be a great fit. He wouldn't put up Graham numbers but he'd do numbers a little similar or maybe a little better than what Watson did in 2015.

74 catches for 825 yards and six TDs. I'd take that all day every day.

He seems really tough to bring down too, at least in the highlight videos I've watched.

No shite. I wish something would come out soon. It's annoying the hell out of me.

He's a load. Hes very straight line but he gets up to speed fast, has a broad upper body. He's tough to tackle

If Cook has started his career with CSP and Brees - he’d be preparing for a bust in Canton.

Would any of you fools even know Jimmy Graham’s name if we hadn’t drafted him? He would be a nobody. Look at his career outside of Nola.

Okay I'm tired of jerking each other off about Cook until a deal is done. I'm ready to hear that the deal is done and not just "close".

He’s not a good blocker at all. He’s a pass catcher.

What the hell is taking so long to close this deal. It seems like this has been going on forever.
