Up 17 and you lose your QB a defensive head coach will always go ultra conservative

Allen was more worried about turnovers than possibly putting the nail in the coffin up 17 when the Saints got the ball on a turnover on downs.
He probably went to Carmichael and said don't lose the game on a mistake.
The drive after the 67 yards in PI calls the Saints should have tried a deep ball to for a call in their favor.
I think the game would have been different with Maye and Kamara. I will not blame injuries, but suspensions are controllable.

Allen's biggest strength is his defense, but his biggest weakness is that he trusts them to always hold.

Even when they’ve been on the field for the entire second half because you keep further handicapping an already handicapped offense with conservative play calling?
Prevent offense is what lost us this game.

I think it’s why Lafleur was so comfortable going for two, he knew Dennis is a bed wetter and was virtually guaranteed another possession against a worn out D:
When GB ate up a shite ton of time and came away with no points that should have been the back breaker. Instead we go run, run, pass and put our D right back out there. Had we given them any kind of a breather there I think it would have been enough to hold on for the W.
Dennis and Pete are huge pussies

I just dont understand the decisions making. Being conservative is one thing, but consistently calling longer, slow developing pass plays on third and short made my blood boil. We consistently threw behind the sticks and when we needed two yards to sustain a drive, they'd call a long, deep crossing pattern and Winston would either shite himself of get eaten by Gary.

Neither Allen nor Carmichael trust Winston enough to let him push the ball down the field. The already conservative offense is about to go into a shell.

He tried to throw at least 2 interceptions on the last drive

You mean when they didn’t have a choice but to let him do it?

While I agree, the team knew Maye was facing an eventually suspension when they signed him in 22.
It was obvious he was playing don't lose when he didn't let Gruppe attempt the ~50 yarder in the 3rd. Which is crazy that he was playing with that mindset but still hasn't trying to work the clock with runs and easy passes.

quote:Defense only played 11 more plays than the offense, including kneel downs. They should have been able to hold a 17 point 4th quarter lead. DD has to be embarrassed that he blew the tackle on Love on 4th down. It was his assignment from the snap and he was in position to make the play. He just wiffed.

quote:How so? It was clear than something was wrong with the routes being run. On both, there were 2 receivers in the same place. Not sure how that kept happening.
