This was mentioned by Nfl Network during the draft. I dont think it would have mattered for the saints case. I think the saints still preferred a bigger more complete back in Kendre Miller.

That plus the fact that Miller is bigger and more physical.

Tyjae’s draft party was very cringe. Glad we passed but wish him well.

Define “more complete back” and why you think Miller is that over Spears?

Saints made the right choice with Miller.

Very low milage on him in college, but extremely productive.

Everyone keeps saying AK41 and Miller time as a 1 - 2 punch but I really think it's going to be Miller Time and Jay-Wil as that 1 - 2 punch.

Uh yeah because Kamara will be suspended. Let’s not force the nicknames

If know, that matters in any case.

Also maybe we just passed for other players. Or just passed in general.

Kamara cost us a bundle. Then he goes bone head on us and could cost his team 6 games.
Do u think he was worrying bout his team and fans in Vegas?
I don't think so. He has been great here but RB just don't last and this new dude looks a lot like Kamara and he is hungry.
I'll take 3/4 Kamara for 15 million less and go get a monster DE or 2 interior OL guys.
The team would be better.

Hines Ward played 14 years in the NFL for the Pittsburgh Steelers with no ACL in one knee. He lasted until the 3rd round because some teams backed off b/c of the lack of an ACL in one knee.

There’s a longer list of guys that had short careers due to that issue. Could spears be an exception to the rule? Maybe but probably not

I already knew about his knee injury history and figured that's why the Saints passed and he dropped like he did even though he still surprisingly to me got taken in the 3rd by the Titans. But the Titans knew what kind of RB he was and that was an unbelievably productive RB in his final season at Tulane despite that knee. But Kendre Miller is not a more complete RB than Spears, bigger and stronger, yes. Better runner, maybe, but Spears is an incredibly elusive back with incredible lateral movement in making tacklers miss him all the time despite the bad knee. He is the better all-around RB because he can catch out the backfield like a Kamara, and he has shown a willingness to pass block or protect for his QB despite his 5'10, 205 pound size. Miller has already stated he's not a good receiver catching the ball and needs to work on that, I'm not sure about his pass blocking either. Tyjae Spears wowed scouts and Nfl front office people at the senior bowl with his all-around play during practice sessions and was known as the best RB there. He is no scat back because he has shown surprising strength in breaking tackles running between or through the line. I wish the young man well in his career with his knee.
