This is the most hopeless I’ve felt as a Saints fan since Katrina

I remember how awful that season was. The rift between Benson and the State….this is pretty close.

what's concerning to me is i just don't feel anything about it. total apathy. but as long as people keep showing up and spening money they won't change it

That season after Katrina was MUCH worse.

We were in Year 6 of the Haslett/Brooks nightmare and we had a piece of shite owner threatening to move the team.

We have better players now and an owner who loves it here and isn’t going anywhere.

That was a 3-13 team.

This is another 7-9 to 9-7 team.

I’m sorry you missed the Ditka era Saints. The mid-late 90s were not a good time to be an LSU or Saints fan.

Maybe Ioves it here out of habit. She was hijacked here and is lucky to be alive.

Mid-late 90s only felt so bad because Mora gave us a taste. 70s through the mid 80s were like fan abuse and we all had battered fan syndrome. Still loved our Saints, still hoped.

It's also why I don't go into the histrionics that some do. The Saints will either do good or they won't. I'll still pull for them and be hopeful but not invested to the degree that it is devastating when they lose. Maybe I still have battered fan syndrome

Everybody cries about wanting to suck for higher picks after we win 8 or 9 games. Now we're gonna suck and people won't stop crying about it.

Well they’re not talking about leaving town this season… so there’s that.

Why do you think a game will be cancelled? Covid?

I went to the Jacksonville game last year on a Thursday night.

I know the Saints didn't start really getting back into the game until the 4th quarter, but for as many fans there were at the game, the energy was noticeably different.

I reckon I'll come over for one game this year. I always go to at least one used to be two or three.

They used to do charter bus rides from the mall where I lived and take you over to the game. They don't do that anymore though.

I don't feel hopeless, I feel apathetic.

We're in purgatory for 2 years, if we get lucky - things go right and we can sneak in as a wild card.

If things go bad, it's one more year closer to what we all want (a reset of sorts, less Dennis Allen).

This team in 2 years will look vastly different

The best thing for the franchise would be to lose every game.

Imagine the excitement if we had Vrabel next year with 5 or 6 picks in the top 100 of the draft, including #1 that could be a franchise QB.

It would be similar to Brees, Bush, and Peyton all at once.

Instant excitement and enthusiasm.

I mean we all feel this way... having a top 3 offense for a decade+ to what we got now... who wouldn't feel hopeless

With that said I'm predicting a 12-5 season... with us taking the Lombardi on Poydrass

After the MNF game in Tampa two years ago, where Brady came back on us, I lost all hope in DA. I was at that game too and to witness it in person broke me.

I am surprised about how indifferent I am about winning or losing.

After listening to a Dennis Allen press conference, I stop hearing his specific points and just starting counting the number of times he says the word “um” with a drinking game option.

A few games were losses last season because his in game decisions in the red zone and end game decisions seemed moronic.

Ok, down votes coming i know. My younger self might fight me but i am more interested in whatever has to happen for Dennis Allen and Carr to no longer be apart of this franchise which is probably a lot of losing. Cheering for that. Wished they would of bare bones tanked two years ago

It really did change the trajectory of the organization.
