The worst thing to happen to TD/ST is Saints Report shitty posters migrating over here. This place was much better once upon a time. It's either simp fawning over players or absolute outrage; rational talk is virtually non existent. What a shame this board has become.

Book’s shittiness is not a serious issue but is a bit of a let down.

Not to mention, while it was far from great, it wasnt nearly close to the worst performance we have seen over the years. A fumbled snap and a couple high passes. Thats what the yelling is about. And the fumbled snap is probably because of a lack of familiarity with the center

He's the worst at this level I've seen in a while.

Book at best will be a backup. I think Saints just hope he can develop over a few years and be a decent #2. Obviously he’s not anywhere close right now but doesn’t mean one day he can’t be in another year or 2.

Dalton played one series and was great. Nobody of consequence really played. So people talk about how terrible our second year QB played.

That being said, he had some really really bad plays. But he also had a couple pretty good plays. I would have liked to see more consistency, but I don’t expect much from a second year 3rd string QB. Glad he’s getting the reps and hope to see improvement each game.

If you think the melts are bad now, wait until they cut him. There will definitely be a dozen threads during the 1-2 weeks after about how Payton can't evaluate QBs and list off every 3rd round or later QB that failed.

This is reasonable and most accurate.

Look, I’ll raise my hand and admit I started a thread about free agent quarterbacks more or less as a joke, but yes it’s a third string QB that raises the concern. I don’t expect a Wille Beamer situation to occur, but Book just didn’t look like he has it. He got better in the game, but overall he’s a waste of a pick at the time and probably will not be here in the future.

I remember him lined up in a 4 step gun, take the snap and took 6 more steps back and still had no idea who to throw the ball to. Sack. Interception. Terrible.

3rd string can quickly become 2nd string. Who wants an absolute dog turd as their backup qb?

He had 2 really bad drives in the opening but actually would have finished with 2 scoring drives if Trequan Smith holds on to the nearly perfect place ball and if the RB doesn't fumble inside the 3 yard line.

Also he adjusted and started hitting passes on the left side that were being overthrown in the first half.

I'm melting so hard that I've sold the rest of my pre-season Saints tickets.
