Davenport has never played up to the Saints expectations when they gave up 8 first round draft choices to draft him. Always injured. Has not earned and does not deserve the big pay day. He is not an every down lineman like Cam. My opinion is that Granderson has outplayed him.

He is like Peat. You don’t enjoy having to resign him but how easy is he to replace because he isn’t bad. He also isn’t anywhere near his draft value.

Dude is a non-factor on the field

DE is a position that can’t be hidden by advanced stats

Sam Hubbard is a much, much better player than Davenport, but I don’t disagree.

I wouldn't make any player decisions based on this season... by that logic we should just cut Kamara after his more fumbles than TDs season.

They paid Peat, so don’t be surprised if it happens

Not sure how much Cam makes off the top of my head, but it’s getting to the point where he needs to be looking to take a pay cut. His decline has been very noticeable.

You realize that he's been a top 10 graded LT in the last 7 seasons? He's had 36 penalties in 10 years. The dude probably won't make it into the HOF because of the obsession with "playmakers" instead of OLine but he's one of the best Left Tackles in the game, especially when healthy.

You'd be ill advised to pay him 12mil+

But if he's on a reasonable 2-3yr deal that's a smart decision

I never understood why we let Hendrickson go. It was another we can't afford him but we can waste money elsewhere moves. That and letting Williams go are just a couple of questionable decisions the Saints management has missed on.

Davenport has not proven or earned that he is worth a big contract.
If negotiating gets unreasonable by Davenport let him walk
