Gotta think all the interviews are more of a show. Notice Allen appears to be last? I think he is the leader in the clubhouse by far.

I don’t think Allen is the leader by far. I think they want to know each coach’s pitch for the future of the franchise. Allen will have to interview just as well as everyone else and sell Saints brass that he’s the right move for the future and not because he’ll just keep everything the way it was

I don’t think it’s for show. It hurts enough that the Saints do not have a coach at the Sr bowl watching four potential 1st Rd QB workout & throw.
The draft is right around the corner. They need to get a guy in so they can start planning. They don’t have time to waste by interviewing guys they aren’t serious about. I would at least hope that isn’t what is going on

That rams defense is really well coached. Yes i know they have some ballers.

Only one of these is really winning in today's NFL and that's because he had the greatest player of all time. Tomlin and Carroll are good coaches but they're being left behind.
Noll and Dungy arent even really comparable because it's just a different brand of football.
You could also say that none of those guys has had success with a QB that wasn't already established. The Saints need an offensive mind to help mold the eventual next QB. Problem is, Daboll is taken and we arent even interviewing McDaniel from the niners.

Almost all of them had HOF QBs depending on how the rest of Wilson’s career turned out with one (BB) having the best qb ever and the other maybe top 3 or 4 ever (Dungy)
Not a very inspiring list unless we plan on getting lucky with landing another HOF qb and what’s the chances of that….

It depends on their philosophy. If they want a limited offense to preserve the D, then yeah, that's bad.
Teams with defensive coaches now have pretty good/expansive offenses. 2 in the top 10 in EPA/play (Chargers and Bills). The more telling trend in the top 10 is QB play.
1. Rodgers
2. Stafford
3. Brady
4. Mahomes
5. Herbert
6. Kyler
7. Garappolo
8. Wentz
9. Hurts
10. Allen
3 of those 10 are clearly functions of good offensive coaching more than QB play (LAR, SF, and PHI).
The problem with being dead set on an offensive guy at this moment is there aren't any particularly good ones on the market. We could roll the dice on another McVay protege in O'Connell. I don't think we're an option for the SF OC. Who else is worth a frick outside of those 2 this year? Certainly not Biennemy or Pederson.

Yes and that plays into my main point. There just aren't many great options for us on that side of the ball b/c so many have been hired of late.
Who is out there worth taking the risk? SF OC and LAR OC and who else? I think we could mesh with either system given our roster (assuming we get a QB), but I don't know if either will be options (esp since one is not going to be free for 2 weeks and the other is a longshot).
