why is that so far-fetched?
strief was not a professional broadcaster and doesn’t need the paycheck to feed his family.
the other guys were/are and presumably do need it and/or were above the budget pay grade that the owners of the station wanted to spend
speculation no question but certainly plausible

did i say its far fetched? i'm asking to simply state his know and quit beating around a bush like an a-hole. i seriously doubt WWL went with strief over myers cause joel wanted more money than zach. Just don't see it actually going like that. That is to say that WWL actually had contract negotiations with multiple candidates.

joel meyers (if it actually got that far) has a price tag...he's been a professional PBP man for decades. if you think that he wasnt going to be more expensive than zach strief i dont know what to tell you

Meyers is also like 65 or so. Jim Henderson just retired at age 70. That is also a factor worth considering when WWL may be reaching for the long term hire.
Plus, you don't know what his price tag would have been compared to zach's contract. Do you actually know? tzimme is a a balling insider, if he knows, he needs to say he knows. He's not in a position to ponder that kind of shite without actual knowledge.

The hiring of Payton’s daughter is even more egregious. Talk about nepotism. There are qualified journalists that would kill for that gig but it goes to the coach’s daughter.

I tried again since the TV guys sucked too. Strief has been better tonight with the verbiage. His vocal quality is still lacking and probably always will.

Yeah I listened to him some today and I thought it was fine. Grown men bitching about a radio broadcast for a football game b/c he isn't "enthusiastic enough" or "pauses to much" is kinda gay anyways. We've got women in here complaining about a dude just starting out doing radio and another queen mad about Payton's daughter having a job as a journalist. If I'm listening to the radio I just wanna know what's going on, Strief explained exactly what was going on. I turned the radio on just to check it out while watching the game some. He is fine. Geez there are some beta back bitches in here.

It’s was a stupid hire for a professional football organization. My family has muted the tv and listened to the radio for every Saints game my entire life so I just do it out of habit now. He’s shouldn’t be THE voice of an NFL team. Next Friday night go check out whatever local high school broadcast you get in your area then listen to Streif again. That’s the level he is on. We already know from Timmy’s posts that WWL went cheap. You get what you pay for.
