Hiring Strief as PBP is exactly the same as hiring O as LSU HC.
Neither is qualified but they're "local." I love Strief as a guy but this is just the kind of backward, stupid arse inbred logic that makes LA a joke of a state.
It's so tribal and political that all rational thought goes out the window.

He’s horrible! What was WWL thinking.?? I know of several faithful listeners that have just stopped listening.This is suicide in this day and age, revenue at radio stations has been drying up for years with the advent of so many other platforms like satellite,streaming....SMH

Is WWL just going cheap? To think how far they have dropped from hap then buddy D to bobby and Christian freakin Garrick now. And from Jim Henderson to Zach Strief. It’s pretty sad.

This thread has really surprised me at how many people listen to WWL for the games. I just listen to the tv broadcast and half the time tune those idiots out anyway.

I didnt realize how much I enjoyed Jim Henderson, Might take strief 2 or 3 years to refine the craft.

Most of my family still does the whole mute the tv turn up the radio deal that Hokie used to always say. It’s been that way since I was a kid. My dad would put the WWL broadcast on the big den stereo while we watched the game. His quote to me last night was “I think I might be getting too old or something. That boy who took over for Jim made me listen to the tv broadcast for the first time in 30 years.”

Meyers should've been the play by play guy, it was a no-brainer, and stick Zach in the end zone like a Tony Saragusa type reporter, ask Zach about injuries and or how certain things in the game are developing. Way to soon to put him in the booth especially following Henderson. Not Zach's fault he's just not ready yet.

This was a really bad hire. He may improve his delivery in time but it’s the tonal quality of his voice. He is simply not a professional play by play announcer. The days of listening to WWL for games is over for me. I’ll definitely listen to the Pre-Game & The Point After for game analysis but that’s it.
