Not happening…
Correct, the supplemental draft is not happening this year. The NFL has decided against it. Penned a pretty strong stance against the whole Sorsby thing, basically calling Sorsby and his group out for not having their $hit together.

so what happens now?
Does he become a free agent? or does he have to enter the draft next year?

Couple options but none worth a crap.
1- wait till next years draft 2027
2- he can’t be a free agent until he goes through the draft process
3- play for a juco or cc which is not an ncaa school
4- play for CFL or UFL or one of those other amateur football leagues
5- and this one is the best… work the crap out of draft kings with his $5M lol
The way this all happened is probably the worst case scenario that he couldn’t have even imagined. Oh well, he has to suffer the consequences of his actions. This may have been the very best lesson he could have ever learned.

Sorsby’s attorney to pursue the player’s rights with the NFLPA. Sorsby is not a member of the NFLPA.
In the NFL’s letter to Sorsby, they site the CBA as giving the NFL the sole right to determine whether to hold a supplemental draft.
His attorney may have a point, about the NFL telling him one thing and then saying he needed to do more. But, he doesn't have a case. As stated, he's not a member of the NFLPA at this time. And the NFL has full control of the supplemental draft.
I think this is just a convenient case for the NFL to make an example out of Sorsby and gambling.

Another door has closed for Brendan Sorsby's immediate football future, as the CFL said Friday that the quarterback will not be allowed to join any of its teams for the upcoming season.

What is the Malik Beasley news coming out, these leagues don't want any controversy with their players.
