The Athletic suggest the Saints as a landing spot for Brendan Sorsby

Listed along with the Jets, Cardinals, Browns, Steelers, and Dolphins.
Madness. Even in our own division the Falcons and Panthers are much more obvious landing spots.

For now, the Saints will move forward with second-year quarterback Tyler Shough, their second-round pick in 2025. The 26-year-old Shough had promising stretches in nine starts last season, particularly down the stretch. He was generally accurate and decisive with the football, finishing the year with a .19 EPA/dropback in nine starts, which ranked in the top 10 among quarterbacks with at least nine starts.
Frankly, Shough played like a first-round pick as a rookie. There were reasons he went in the second round, though, including his age and the fact he suffered three severe injuries in college (two broken collarbones and a broken leg). New Orleans also still has talented young backup Spencer Rattler on the roster, and it brought former first-rounder Zach Wilson into the building this summer.

Would this make sense?
Maybe. As a roster, the Saints are closer to Pittsburgh than the rest of the teams on this list — they’re talented enough to surprise some people this year, especially if Shough plays the way he did late last year. Sorsby is probably as talented as Shough was when he entered the draft last spring. If the Saints want to hedge their bet — and feel they might be able to get Sorsby with a mid-round pick — it could turn into a productive investment

I believe in Shough but for a mid round pick I wouldn’t mind it at all. Would make it easier to move Rattler too

depends on what round we'd be able to get him

I've never really seen nor heard on what people think about this guy as a player
It's all about him as a gambler and the backlash Texas Tech received.
Just how good is this guy ?

It's the supplemental draft. in July. The Saints will be one of the top 10, the order based on a lottery. Not sure how many players will be available in the supplemental draft, though.

I pick him in 6th rd.

Doubt it.
Gambling is an almost a death sentence for NFL players.
You can literally kill someone and NFL teams will look past it if you're talented enough (looking at you Ray) gambling is not looked at favorably no matter what some court says to keep you eligible in college.

I wouldn't BET on it...

I think that if the NFL approves Soresby, he'll end up on a team desperate enough for a QB that they will bid a 2nd or 3rd for him. He has not been approved yet. I would not be surprised if the gambling on his own team issue rears its head for him again, nor would I be surprised if it is ignored. I think the open integration of gambling into sports nowadays through sponsorships from gambling sites has muddied those waters considerably.
Here is a brief breakdown of the rules.

Here is a brief breakdown of the rules.
quote:
1. Player Eligibility
The supplemental draft is not guaranteed to happen every year; it is only held if specific prospects are approved by the NFL. Players usually enter because of off-field issues, academic problems, or NCAA rule changes that occur in late spring or summer, past the standard draft deadline.
2. The Bidding Process
Unlike the traditional NFL Draft, there is no set picking order announced ahead of time. Instead, all 32 teams participate in a blind bidding process.
A team states which round they are willing to use to draft the player.
The team that submits the highest round 'wins' the rights to the player.
If they land the player, the team forfeits that exact same round pick in the next year's NFL Draft.
3. Tie-Breaking & Lottery Tiers
If multiple teams bid a pick in the same round, the tie goes to the team highest in the priority lottery.
The 32 NFL teams are split into three tiered groups based on the previous season's records:
Teams with 6 or fewer wins in the previous season.
Non-playoff teams with 7 or more wins.
Teams that made the playoffs.
The order within these three groups is determined by a weighted lottery system

I'll pass. The dude has legit problems and will most likely take the team down with him when his time comes. I honestly don't see anybody picking him up, but this is the NFL. Some moron is gonna risk his job on that.

I’d be surprised if he lands anywhere. Gambling on your games would constantly be changing over his head.,

If NFL teams thought he was a pro caliber ;player, he would've entered the draft after last season. He wasn't good enough then, and now we know he has significant character problems.
His football career is coming to an end. Stay away.

A hard pass please! After all the bountygate and CSP/RG issues the team had to deal with, no thanks pal.
