The 1st rounder to Philly to pick Olave was a great move by Loomis

At least that was the sentiment here at the time because the Saints already had their QB for years to come with Winston. Didn't work out to well although there are still some Winston believers here.

No, it wasn’t a great move for what it cost to happen. Every move has an opportunity cost. The cost was too high. He’s a good player, but he’s not worth giving away a future top-10 pick when you don’t have a long-term QB.

I’m fine with it. Sucks because we’re bad and Philly is good. Olave is gonna be a great player for the saints

I got a feeling they didn't expect to be a bottom 10 team

Being 4-9 was never part of the plan.

Top 10?
More like Top 5, possibly Top 2-3 pick.

The current top 5 picks are incredible. 3 of the 5 are from teams that expected to be contenders this year. That has to be a first.

1. Houston Texans
2. Seattle Seahawks (from Denver)
3. Chicago Bears
4. Detroit Lions (from LA Rams)
5. Philadelphia Eagles (from New Orleans)

I got downvoted to death at the time for saying it was a terrible trade, and I like Olave.

Everyone thought they did.

That’s the part y’all like to leave out.

Hindsight sure we know it was a bad move.

The Saints got Trevor Penning for this year's 1st not Olave.

Never was my sentiment. I said he wasn\t worthit, nor was trading the 3rd and 4th additionally to get him. He is a good reciver who loses jump balls, is fragile and has no YAC. He falls to the ground to avoid contact. At our original spot h would have been a good pick. Not worth trading chances at multiple players. We approach the draft like our Cap. Forget the future. I hope Penning turns out...

Ironically the board’s favorite punching bag Lester Earl was spot on when he said we gave up way too much. And everyone shite all over him
