My take is he has picked Atlanta...but I don't think moving Matt Ryan is a particularly easy task. Might simply not work out.

I also think Watson is fine with Nola if that's what happens.

I do and don't trust Loomis - he (and Allen) put the Saints in this bad situation with Watson. Payton appears to have been correct in not wanting anything to do with the guy.

Right, it shouldn't. The Saints are a much better team and this is a slamdunk easy choice.

And yet...

Oh ok, the way you worded I took to mean in the opposite direction. Absolutely agree, in a vacuum these two choices aren’t even slightly compareable.

think Watson is going to ATL, but I will say, McClain has been very wrong with his guesses about everything through this entire thing so I'm not really sure this matters

100%. He is going to ATL in my mind, but McClain gets fed a lot of BS that isn’t true or doesn’t pan out.

If Watson has picked Atlanta, why don't the Falcons just cut Ryan and designate his a post June 1st cut???

If they trade him they take the full $40 mil cap hit this year. If they post June 1 cut him they only take a $24.9 mil hit.

They are punting this year ... that much is obvious.

Then cut Matt Ryan and let him go to a good team.

In reply to this:

Noooo! Time to move on from Winston too.

Why? What about his time in New Orleans has you convinced that he isn't worthy of being the Saints' QB1?

You coming back with only this:

Guy is a knucklehead

tells me you have no rational reasons for your statement.

The Steelers chose Mitchell Trubisky over Winston. Doesn’t that tell you something?

I think that's what's bothers me most about this whole situation

Like where would this leave us if he does in fact go to Atlanta we've missed out on other free agents that we could have been pursuing and we have money available to spend now

I guess it's not totally over but you know what I'm saying

He picked Atlanta. They can't make the trade yet until they dump Ryan.

This won't happen, but how great of a troll would it be for Watson to tell Atl he'll give them time to move Ryan. Atl trades Ryan to Indy. Watson waives his no-trade for Saints

Tells me that they don't want to wait for Winston to wait for Watson to make a decision.

I think it’s been Atlanta ever since they entered the conversation. At that point, to me, it told me all I needed to know about him.

He doesn’t REALLY want to win. He wants to be comfortable and be in a familiar setting after all the backlash went down. It’s clear he doesn’t give a shite about actually winning

I mean it doesnt take a Texans reporter to see Watson wants the Falcons. That is OBVIOUS. The reason its all taking so long is can they get rid of Matt Ryan.

Thats not true.

They can just cut him and take the same hit or designate post June 1 and cut it in half.
