Saints have a great trade history with the Texans. This should be done. He’s a 1,000 yard receiver everywhere he goes and no doubt has been humbled since he was last here.

I don’t think Cooks and MT get along. I also don’t think saints will want him back after his last stint

After two years of not playing I don’t think MT gets much of a say.

Different head coach so it’s a possibility

We don’t need a guy who can’t stick with one team . Everyone passes him around the league like a cheap cigar.

Yea. At some point gotta think it’s a cooks problem and not an organization problem.

Yeah I will pass. Dude is talented no doubt but there is a reason why ppl are always so willing to get rid of him and lack of talent isn't it.

I'd pass too. He'll be 29 I believe, the talent is there, but costing draft capital and passed around like a you know what.

I'm not a cap guru, but looked up his contract. LINK
Gmoney and others can chime in on how trade would impact.

We don't need guys who can't make nfl teams not one who repeatedly can. Your metric is stupid on its face. Playing for multiple teams just means multiple teams see something in him and his play.

"Hey coach cbree do you want us to pick up player X for next year?"

"Not if he's been on multiple teams I don't."

Coach cbree was fired the next year after going 0-18 in a 17 game season.

He is exceedingly better than any of our receivers not named Michael Thomas. He will not get you the contested ball and he will seldom break his route to pursue the ball but he is a burner that averages a 1000yds and 72rec. a year. The Texans haven't received multiple calls for him because he has a nice arse or a warm personality.

I really doubt the Saints would go back to this well.

He would definitely be an upgrade but how long would he stay?

He bounces around to different squads a good bit for not even being 30 years old.

Who hasn't had disagreements with MT? Seriously, maybe everyone else isn't the problem. That being said, Cooks had an issue with the offense in general not getting him the ball. Some of it was warranted with Brees losing his deep ball in the last few years; in hindsight we can likely say they were limiting the number of deep shots per game. Cooks got moved elsewhere and the team was better for it.

I'm not saying overpay for Cooks or anybody else but a passing offense that ranked dead last in the NFL last year can't afford to screw around until the market dries up and pull in a Kenny Stills and expect to compete.
