Saints will finally have a LSU star next year and Campbell/Fuaga as your bookends is a nice duo.

if you gonna tank and get that high in the draft you better take the top QB
will see how season plays out but Campbell might be there at 10 or so

Build the trenches and then get a QB. Any QB is set up for failure with our OL and WRs.

If you're going to tank for a QB, you better have something around him or it's pointless.
Last year is a prime example with Young and Stroud. The Texans had a decent OL and some offensive weapons...Stroud flourished. The Panthers basically had an offense filled with practice squad caliber talent and Young stunk.
Drafting a great QB with no protection or playmakers to take the pressure off of him is a recipe for disaster.

Well if you “build for a qb” your team is going to be too good to get a high pick by the time you are ready. He’s also going to have to adjust regardless of the situation he’s in. Just forget Campbell goes the LSU and think logically.

So much of the content on this board right now is oriented around what we all want to happen... a fresh start and a full rebuild.
But that is completely at odds with what the coaching staff, namely DA, wants, which is to coach for another season. They're going to do everything they can to win, Losing for draft position is not a consideration.
(I know most people realize this, but you waouldn't know it from the topic selection)

Nobody thought Stroud was surrounded by talent going into last year. Nico Collins had two average years and Tank Dell was a tiny 3rd rd rookie. Stroud made them into players. Dameon Pierce was the only guy thought of as a weapon for him. Conversely, when tiny Bryce was drafted everyone thought he was going into a good situation.
