Projected available cap space as of today.

Atlanta - +36,721,380.

Carolina - +40,423,051.

New Orleans - (-)87,662,572

Tampa Bay - +47,786,024

Spotrac

This should be an interesting off-season.

Gotta spend money to make money, or something like that.

Oh man, what are we going to do in this totally unprecedented situation?

Tampa did what most here have been asking for. They picked a season, took their lumps, and cleaned up their books. Atlanta will have the money to sign a QB if someone like Cousins shakes free.

Not saying I am worried about cap space, but we definitely will be running back mostly the same crew next season.

Well there are only 9 of the 32 teams with negative caps space in 2024. The saints at -87 mil are twice as deep in the hole as the next team at a little over -40 mil.

So someone help me understand this cap thing with the numbers.

Take the top line Carr gets a salary of $35,700,000
But his dead cap is $52,800,009. So in layman's terms if he was cut from the team for 2024 he would cost $52,800,000 against the cap.

He will cost this amount anyway unless we push some of that figure into the future. So say we claim $42,800,000 and push $10 million into 2025 and 2026.

It is this way for most of the Saints players which cause the issues.

Now when you look at Kamara he is do $18,877,000, but if he is not on the roster we will be charged $16,735,000. So i understand you do not have a player in Kamara but you do save $2 million.

Not a suggestion just looking at the numbers.

Players like Peat and Winston are even numbers, so you only owe that money if they are not on the roster.

So in the case of Peat we are showing a payment of $13,638,000. If he is not signed and say a rookie takes his roster spot at $1.5 million then that is a $12 million savings off the cap.

Loomis will do what he does every offseason and get us under the cap. Until there is a legit long term threat within the division we are not going to rebuild.

Cam Jordan will retire after we win the Super Bowl this February so there's $32,000,000 freed up already

this is an ideal way to have a middling franchise.

The salary cap isn’t real.
