Serious question here, does he need to be handed the pink slip at the mid season point? It can't be any worse with anyone else.

I mean he is pretty fricking bad, NO defense should ever be this bad in the NFL.

But he will stay he hasn't had a full hand all year.

He needs a good d-line for his defense to be effective. I'm not sure why he took this job knowing our d-line sucked. Or maybe somehow he didn't know it sucked.

Our defense has been bad under our last 2 DC's. the common denominator is the players. NEED NEW PLAYERS!

i tried to be optimistic about the hire, but yeah...we don't have what his D needs

even the great wade phillips failed in atlanta b/c they didn't have personnel for his 3-4

The players suck, why should he be fired? By the end of the season he will know what he needs for his D to work and will go after them in the draft/FA and cut the bums that are doing nothing but eating cap space. Sucks but we're going through a down year so you might as well come to peace with it.

Maybe we have a chance if we had osi, tuck, pierre paul, and the guy with the gap in his teeth, then im sure we would have a chance and maybe a hint of a pass rush......

Who doesn't w/ that dline? You can easily make the argument the scheme didn't make the dline great in NY. He had one of the greatest Dlines in the NFL and I don't know if he necessary should get credit for it or he fell into a good situation.

Im starting to believe he fell into a good situation and has been riding that success for his so called great pedigree. It's hard to say it's just personel when we are the worst D in history, he's not making adjustments or making our players better.

we don't have much talent to mold on defense right now. outside of lofton, our LBs are slow. our strong safety sucks dick in coverage. our only pass rushers are converted LBs learning DE. our DTs aren't good

what kind of scheme could this team run?

The players on this team are bad. But I have a hard time believing they are this bad. We could run a 4-3 base defensive play every play and should do better than we are doing right now. This defense is pathetic. Simply pathetic. Stack the line and stop the run or something. Stop getting beat in the run and the pass.
