Sean Payton - what a bitch

Heard a clip yesterday of him on a podcast about how he’s definitely coming back to coach. “I want to find the right team and right situation, blah blah blah.”
Dude straight up lied in his “retirement” speech. He knew damn well he was going to get right back into coaching and just wanted to leave the bad situation he was in.
No, him still being here wouldn’t save our problems, and may even just prolong them if he stuck around. But frick that dude.

Payton is p**** whipped and was forced out of NOLA by his bride. I'm actually glad he's gone. He pissed away so many years here with Brees as our QB because of him giving two shits about the defense side of the ball.

Can you blame him? Get beauty pageant pussy and not have to live in NOLA. That’s a win win.

I dont blame Sean Payton for the faux pas retirement. I think we all knew that's what it was when he retired. He'd be coaching again somewhere else in the next few years. Im hoping we get a good return if he decides he wants to coach again after this season.
I blame him for advocating for DA to be the head coach.

He sure seemed to be enjoying himself all the times he was seen out and about shortly after his announcement.

Don't know how so few posters seem to know what lead to CSP leaving.
The NFL's official statement regarding former New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton:
"In January 2022, the Dolphins had impermissible communications with Don Yee, the agent for Saints head coach Sean Payton, about having Mr. Payton serve as Miami's head coach. Miami did not seek consent from New Orleans to have these discussions, which occurred before Coach Payton announced his decision to retire as head coach of the Saints. Following that announcement, Miami requested permission to speak to Coach Payton for the first time, which New Orleans declined to grant."
The Saints FO was informed and CSP confirmed it.
He didn't quit or retire of his own accord but made a deal with the Saints after he was busted talking to miami.

Except he didn't. He had years left on his contract. He could've lived in the burbs closer to the practice facility like a lot of players do. I don't blame him for not wanting to live in or around NOLA. I am just arguing that he didn't earn the right to walk away from the Saints without being criticized for it. I appreciate all he did for the team and NOLA, but he quit on the team and fans.

What are the punishments for that?
Posted on 12/8/22 at 9:56 am to TackySweater
We lost a coach and miami lost a 1st round pick.

meh I think he did want a season away from the game.
It doesn't really bother me he saw the writing on the wall here. Our mistake was not blowing it up when he left and attempting to prolong this era without the most important cogs in the machine.

Wasn't the lost 1st because of tampering with Brady, and they only lost a lower pick for talking with the Payton's agent

I think it was all tied together. Miami wanted to pair up Brady and CSP.

He wants to come into a situation that will make him look good. That's why he left the Saints. He did not want a challenge.

What would the punishment have been if SP stayed?
