He's suggesting that Mickey Loomis is about to get hit as well, but we'll see...

So the word is out.

He said this off-season. Not this season

I wouldn't expect him to be booted from the organization so the off season would make sense.

If he’s out I would guess they allow him to step back and take some different position

Mickey is an example of “you either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain”

Had he rode off into the sunset with Sean and Drew he’d probably be a revered figure by all (but LE). Instead he torpedoed the franchise and got exposed as a total inept, coattail rider.

If Lady Gayle cuts Loomis, it would be a huge cause for celebration.

I hope that she'd reach out to the League to help guide her through this process.

I’m fine with Mickey staying as our cap/money guy only

But we need someone else for all football ops

We are currently 70 million over the cap for 2025 with probably the oldest roster in the nfl. The next team is only 30 million over the cap.

I wouldn’t let Loomis near the cash register at the concession stand if I were Gayle.

Go with Khai and Ireland Co-GMs and call it a day.

Are you serious ? That’s one of the largest reasons we’re in this hole

“Yeah I’m ok with Madofff continuing to manage the funds just not so much of the day to day anymore “

I agree. I would prefer an entirely new regime. I was just saying if they are hell bent on keeping people then Loomis isn’t the guy to keep. Especially when it comes to handling the cap.

The guy who taught Mickey these stupid crazy cap moves and the guy who has botched every draft outside of 2017? :rotflmao:

Khai Harley
Assistant General Manager/Vice President of Football Operations
Biography
In his 16th Saints season and 23rd in the National Football League, Harley's primary focus is contract negotiation and strategic planning/management of the Saints salary cap and roster management. In his eighth season in his current position after serving as director of football administration from 2008-13, he works in conjunction with the player personnel department, making player acquisitions fit within the salary cap structure. Harley works closely with the Pro and College Personnel departments in preparation of free agency and the NFL Draft. His duties also include contract negotiations, coordinating different areas of football operations, roster management and other administrative functions of running the club. He is a key liaison with the NFL Management Council and NFLPA. Harley has a deep background in NFL salary cap administration, Collective Bargaining Agreement regulations and the research of player contracts. He arrived in New Orleans in 2008 after serving for five years as the Manager of Labor Operations with the NFL Management Council.

On a daily basis, Harley researches contracts and cap statistics from not only the club but from around the NFL. It's similar to the daily and yearly reconciliation he did for all 32 clubs in his former position, where he calculated cap figures for each team, made adjustments for the following year and analyzed statistical trends related to signings.

Jeff Ireland
VP/Assistant General Manager - College Personnel
Biography
Ireland is in his ninth season with New Orleans. In eight drafts, he's led an effort for the Saints, selecting impact players in Alvin Kamara, Marshon Lattimore, Chris Olave, Ryan Ramczyk and Michael Thomas, as well as significant contributors in Paulson Adebo, Erik McCoy, David Onyemata, Andrus Peat, Caesar Ruiz, Alontae Taylor, Pete Werner and P.J. Williams

In 2017, Ireland led a standout draft effort headlined by Lattimore and Kamara becoming the first rookie duo from the same team since 1967 to sweep Associated Press Defensive and Offensive Rookie of the Year and they were the first Saints rookie duo selected to the Pro Bowl as rookies. In 2020, Kamara, the only Saint selected to the Pro Bowl each of his first four campaigns, shattered the club's touchdown record with an NFL-best 21 scores. Lattimore has been selected to four Pro Bowls. A second round draft pick in 2016, Thomas's 510 receptions are the most by an NFL player in his first five seasons. He shattered the NFL receiving record in 2019, recording 149 receptions for 1,725 yards with nine touchdowns, as he was named AP Offensive Player of the Year, a first-team All-Pro and Pro Bowl starter for the second straight season.
