I'm guessing it's probably because of injury.

Out of all the weeks to do this they chose this week?

Seriously? Grupe has had bad weeks and weeks where I wouldn't have questioned this move at all but to do so in a game where the offense was 0/5 in the RZ, where the QB threw a pick 6 and wanted to get the guy who did its snap chat in the middle of the game...

Carmichaels offense has been criticized by fans and experts alike, Grupe has missed much easier kicks where he wasn't perfect heading into the kick...this wasn't a game winner...we were still losing

Is Allen betting on spreads?

Crosby is old as frick and anyone even casually watching the Packers could see he's losing the ability to hit from deep. Maybe they're going to sign him to the spot they're wasting on Jimmy Graham and use him for short kicks and let Grupe handle the ones over 50. Either way, this is more proof we're run by morons.

By this same metric Carr, Dennis and Muskrat Pete should have been gone weeks ago..

He doesn't just miss 50 yarders though.

He's missed 6 kicks so far this year:

- one kick less than 40, which is unacceptable.
- 2 between 40 and 50, yet he made 7. Not good, but not terrible either. Looking through stats there are quite a few that have missed 2 in this league currently.
- 3 over 50 yards. He's made 5 though. This is not something to get mad over. To hold kickers to a 100% kick rate of 50+ yards is completely unreasonable. This is not the meter of judgement.

Take away his very bad Texans game and he sits directly in the middle of the pack of NFL kickers. He's a rookie; he's going to have bad games.

Do I think he's going to be an elite kicker? I have no idea, but it does not appear so. How many are there in the NFL currently? 4? 5? That's why they are considered elite; there just aren't many of them. Is he bad? Possibly, but so far he hasn't shown that. He's shown that he can make some challenging kicks, but he's also shown he can crack under pressure.

Again, he's a rookie. Rookies crack under pressure. That's just the reality of being human.

I can neither attack nor defend him, but lashing out at this dude after he just went 5/6 in a game is a bit drastic. If the Saints kept him over Lutz, then they obviously saw something in him that they liked. They saw his potential. If that's the case and you stick with a rookie, then you have to accept the bad when it happens. If the bad happens too often, then that's a different scenario. When you're 100% on XPs and 3 of your 6 missed kicks were over 50, then you're not doing so bad. Ride this dude out and see what he brings next year. If he's inconsistent and unreliable then, well it's time to pull the plug.

This team has way more problems than a rookie kicker.

Grupe was on the injury report last week with a groin issue. He could have aggravated it having to kick 50yrd FGs all game.

Underhill

Too bad they don't hold their QB to the same standard when it comes to scoring actual Touchdowns when in the Redzone...

In fact, what does it say that you feel the need to explore other kickers after your teams redzone performance Sunday..

I wouldn't call it "lashing out." I call it acknowledgment that he's shown you twice now he cannot handle the pressure of making a kick when the team absolutely has to have it to extend a game.

Yes this team has many problems, but Carr can't be replaced as easily as an objectively bad kicker. It is what it is.

We lost that game well before they trotted him out there.

Yep. Pick six was the nail in the coffin. 14 point swing.

Sure, but when we absolutely needed him to deliver to extend the game, he didn't. That's at least twice now. Like a bunch of other things with this team, that's unacceptable.

Yea, I don’t get it. Dude misses every important kick.

Injury like I said above. It's not for any other reason. Let's see if he doesn't or does end up on IR.

He’s the worst punter in the league, yet nobody in their right mind would want to frick with this guy.
