just keep the fricking malcontent at that point, he can rot on the bench and kill his own value. This doesn't make much sense

That is Trash compensation but I understand wanting to move on and get something back.

We avoid paying a good, but not great player a near max deal. That is what the trade is about.

Trade value plummets when the player is due for a massive contract.

I mean this is mostly true. We liked him so much because of the fire and energy he brought to the defense. That said, he wasn't a good enough player to commit a massive contract to. Perhaps he proves us all wrong with the Eagles, but I'm don't think he will.

Agree with all of this.

I love what he did out there.

He knew how to get into an opponent's head and frick with them

but I mean if he was going to bring negative energy and be distraction this year which is what is being leaked,

then he pretty much didn't give the Saints much of choice.

Just think, now we can use those picks to move up 6 spots in the 3rd round next year

damn... was the situation really that untenable?

to have to give up a draft pick to get rid of CJGJ to get just 2 mid/late draft picks back in return?

and the 6th round pick is the worse of the 2 6th rounders Philly has that year

Saints receive the Eagles’ 5th-round pick in 2023 and the worse of their two 6th-round picks in 2024.

bruh... i understand the need to trade him, but bruh... that's TERRIBLE compensation when you'd have gotten more than that as a compensatory pick if you let him leave via free agency...

he was either severely fricking up the locker room, or something, for them to need to take this route

Terrible compensation. They clearly wanted him out of the locker room completely, and quickly.

seems we always get fleeced on trades involving draft picks. If CJG were being traded to us from elsewhere, it would cost 3 first round picks.
