Grupe was missing kicks that would be embarrassing in college

Will this be the sixth NFL team York has played for? Is that not a red flag for a kicker?

That means he was good enough to be on 6 teams, even if he didn’t last. Compared to the guy who shouldn’t have been on 1 team. At least York can miss wide left or right from 65 and still get it there.

Didn't he have trouble with the long kicks in Cincinnati though?

9/11 with a long of 59 in his short stint with them last year. He did miss one that would have won a game in OT for them but they eventually scored a TD to win.

He struggled with Cleveland in his first year, though.

I get that it needed to be done, but anyone that thinks this will make a difference is fooling themselves. Saints are an all around bad team.

You can’t fix everything at once.

And even moreso it’s important for KM to show he demands accountability. If you don’t perform you’re gone.

I’m not sure York is an upgrade

Change of scenery does some players good.

I'm not thrilled with the signing.

He just needs to make the easy ones. Group could not. Certainly a open call next year in camp for kickers.

Hopefully signing York to the practice squad means Smyth will get a shot to kick this Sunday.

He's been with the team what 2 or 3 years? If they don't trust him to come in and kick a little for a 2-9 team that's not playing for anything then why keep him around.

The only kicker on the roster now is York

York will be elevated to the main roster on Saturday & will kick on Sunday

Agree. We aren't winning losing solely on a kicker, but the accountability needs to be there. This was a good move. Now it's time to find a new punter
