Boston Scott will clear waivers, then he will be put on the PS, and all this whining will have been for nothing.

Does everyone really think he was valued enough not to clear waivers, or is it more of a hes a local boy and training camp/preseason hero and everyone is upset he got cut.

More of the camp/preseason hero. People were upset when Leonard initially got cut and Williams. Every year people get upset over certain players getting cut, not sure why some of ya'll are acting so surprised of people upset with Scott getting cut, especially since he played well.

I'm suddenly pretty nervous about our O line. Wish we would have kept Senio

Stupar out played Klein and played lights out, but we keep Klein and send stupar packing. Scott is a better return guy than TLL and got waived. Honestly dont see the logic

Payton says Boston Scott move was about “bigger picture” of how they wanted to go into this game. Said Scott had a good camp and expects him to keep developing

These guys cost almost no draft capital. You bring them in to compete. They weren’t good enough. What else do you do?

I mentioned this to a friend. The musical chairs of the 53 happens all the time with the Saints. They probably felt Scott had a better chance of clearing waivers on a Wednesday then last Saturday when everyone is filling their 53. Better chance to reach the practice squad. While they may call up a guy like Williams for game 1 as he feels the needed role more. But knew Williams would clear initial waivers.

I think Payton said recently that anyone they bring in to fill out the 53, be it draft picks, UDFA's, or whoever, is essentially a draft pick. You find the best players to fill out your roster. When it's done, it doesn't matter how you did it. You found the best players.

And Payton is listening to you, Saints Talk.

Triplett:

Sean Payton said the Saints have never gone into a game with just two tailbacks active. Said it’s possible but would be difficult. So it sounds like we’ll probably see a 3rd RB added by Sunday (you’d have to assume Jonathan Williams or Dwayne Washington from the practice squad)

Draft better late or deal the picks if you believe your roster is that stout

How many other teams waived this % of their draft? Serious question

when does the 24 hour waiver period end for Scott? When will we know if he's PS eligible for us or if someone else claimed him?

Three of the guys they waived were claimed. So I’m not sure they were bad players.

I think if we were talkin about earlier picks, I’d see The point about trading them. Still, easier said than done. Not exactly a huge market for 6th rd picks.

In the end a 6th rd pick is a lottery ticket anyway. It’s worth just getting those guys in camp to see if you have something.

How many 6th round picks didn’t make teams? I’d assume a good bit.

Leonard made it to the PS as will scott.

Muhammad stuck around all last year. He couldn’t beat out our other guys. Mitchell Loewen for example was just flat out better. It’s not like it is a total waste.

I mean, duh.

Sounds like they need Ola for practice all week and then depending on health waive him before the game and activate Williams.

I have no issue with waiving scott and hoping he clears. Just wonder why they waited so late to do it.

But if you're light on RB's, why not keep him on the roster, or not waive one of the other guys?

i'm thinking they rather have Jonathan Williams suit up on game day. More complimentary type back to Kamara and Gillislee.
