Could’ve rolled with Moreau and backfilled the position through the draft
I know, exactly what I would have done.
Could hope one of Mason Taylor, helm, or arroyo are there in the third.
Loomis has no vision for this team.

P bean and Chad have never explained why they are so excited to be a 9-win team at best and 2nd in the division.
This team isn’t winning 9 games.

What I think is he's good for losing you one game a year.

Knowing what we know, they will likely still draft a tight end.
Rarely does a guy come in like bowers and laporta who break out immediately.
Most guys take a couple years, which this would allow us that time. Even gronk/Graham took a year.

Again, we restructured Carr to eat shitty contract/cap situations like Johnson's $7M void year hit. The combination of moves makes no sense OTHER than the FO/HC thinking we are Super Bowl contenders this year (we are not)
This what I thought we’d be doing. The smart thing. Loomis thinks we are a contender and now has put us right back in the same boat three years from now.
We could have a cleared cap right now if he didn’t pull this same shite two years ago. It will never end until he’s gone.

7 would be a miracle type of season.
3 is more likely than 9.
This move makes me wonder if Kellen Moore has any decision making power relative to the roster.

This shouldn’t stop them from taking a TE in the draft regardless. The kid from Penn State is on another level and I would have loved to have gotten him but he may be gone by when we pick and you have to have insurance against that. If Mason Taylor is still there when we pick in the 3rd round I’m running to draft him.

I wouldn't have signed him either at 30 mil.
Arroyo would be the perfect tight end for the saints. I'm high on him as a receiver. Hopefully they get him with one of the 3rd.

JJ just a spot/backup at best

Saints re-sign Juwan Johnson ???
What a WASTE OF MONEY !!!
This dude is at best, a Dollar over The NFL league minimum
for a 5 year vet of salary of $1,125,000 for the 2025 season.

Nah. This team will likely be better than last years team and we won 5 on a pretty hard schedule.
Weak division, given health, in a 17 game season, this team if everything goes right could win 8-9 (also assuming a hit or two in the draft and Carr stays healthy)
The point is that is the absolute ceiling and that’s pathetic. That’s the ceiling Loomis is betting it all on.

On paper it’s ranked among Loomis’s worst in recent history.
Hopefully Moore can schematically make it worth it.

I refuse to believe this was the actual market price bunchie. Dude couldn’t make a roster for 20 other teams I’d bet

I'm serious when I suggest that the moves the Saints have made look like a football guy (presumably Moore) isn't even involved.
Maybe I'm giving Moore too much credit. Maybe things are worse than I even realized.
But, this looks like a situation where Loomis, who has NEVER been viewed as a talent evaluator, has accumulated so much power internally that he's now acting as a true GM.

hyperbole trash opinion lester. do better.

Don't understand this one at all. He has shown little to get that size of a contract.

The dead money that existed on Young and Johnson’s previous deals made these easy contracts for old Mick
Posted on 3/12/25 at 10:30 am to goatmilker
I know and understand everyone's frustrations for signing him to that kind of a deal, but they're (the so-called NFL gurus) saying how he had a great season for over 50 catches and over 500 yards at TE. So, in their minds it justifies him having this kind of contract. Lol
