Exactly. Young isn’t a bad player. He’s an average player and we just gave him a decent sized contract when we should have let him walked, saved the money and built for the future.

No wonder Moore was hired if he’s signing off on all of these bullshite moves and why no one else wanted to come here. All the smarter coaches wanted to rebuild. Loomis hired the only sucker that said, “yeah, you’re close”

Clearly, if you watched any games last year you’d know that Chase Young was chasing Qb’s around all season last year, and had them running for their lives. We just didnt have a swarming defense to help get sacks, tfls, etc.

Young had 66 qb pressures and 21 qb hits meaning he was all over the qb often. He is 25 and def worth a multiple year deal.

I watched him specifically all year long. Breese is the one who collapses the pocket up the middle. He’s a bit of a bull in a china shop, but he’s getting in the backfield. Granderson and Young were not getting it done. Chase Young got 3.5 sacks against Jayden Daniels who was the most sacked QB. Besides that, he was bull rushing and not setting the edge and QBs had all day to throw. There’s a difference in getting pressure after 2.5 seconds and when you get pressure after 5 seconds which are the “pressures” that Young gets. Thats why he gets pressures and not sacks.

For some perspective, Young played 63% of the snaps and had 5.5 sacks and 31 tackles. Cam only played 48% of the snaps and had 4 sacks and 34 tackles. And a lot of that time Jordan was rotating in at DT.

Young ain’t good! He’s not statistically good and doesn’t play good (well).

There’s literally a post right below yours that proves otherwise.

...

An opinion on young proved this wrong?

You’re either being intentionally ignorant or accidentally. Either way, I don’t have time to argue with fricking morons.

I was clearly referring to Young and not my conjecture about Moore.

I get oh so tired of hearing this drivel year after year. We apparently have been set up for failure since 2010 according to some people. Every year is the year the big bad boogie cap is going to catch up with us.

Having a HOF qb and good hc covered up a lot of personnel and bad drafts for years.

They absolutely screwed Brees with personnel decisions in Brees prime years. We should definitely have more trophies than just the one.

Brees isn’t around to save them and yiu seeing the results now. Same bad decisions but no HOF qb to bail them out….

Meh. At least he isn’t some typical over 30 signing. If he stays healthy there isn’t a real downside here. We know the floor but there is still a nice ceiling he hasn’t hit. He's still 25 years old, his pressure rates puts him in some good company. Some of the new coaching staff have been around the best edge guys we’ve seen, maybe they’ll unlock something. New scheme

In against frivolous spending but the contract and the player don’t warrant a melt here. I’d rather they spend on Young that Charvarius Ward

I don't like to brag, but when it comes to what msstate7 is really thinking, I'm a rock solid source.

This is kind of like the Carr deal

Objectively, the contract isn't bad in terms of the market of the entire NFL

For the Saints and our situation, it's terrible.

This means we're back to "win now" mode and all of this cap rebuilding is over.

It’s really nothing like the Carr deal. He’s 25, immensely talented, and this deal isn’t close to top for the position and it’s only 3 years.

Carr was a massive percentage of cap.

Regardless, your point regarding affecting the rebuild is fairly irrelevant at this point. Loomis has made it clear they are never going to do that.

We have to live within the reality we exist in. And in this reality it’s a fair-ish deal.

Correct, and our addition to overpaying today is going to cost us Breese when he hits FA. He’s on the TRex and Marcus Williams plan.

Chase Young is younger than Payton Turner

Pretend Turner just had the season Young did and you inked him for a modest 3 for $51 mil. You wouldn’t be mad to see where that takes you. Young guy with perceived upside on an otherwise boring roster

Then like we’ve said we have a major owner problem that only selling the team can solve.

She fired DA mid season bc Loomis wouldn’t do it. She is willing to hire a young up and coming coach. She is willing to let her team spend money.

Take a look around the league at some owners. We could have it way worse.

Melting over signing Chase Young? Christ.

Give this regime a chance bc you have no clue what will happen. We haven’t even drafted yet.

Lets pretend like qb pressures and hits dont exist. Naw bud, he was all over the qb, statistically especially.

Saints signed Young for his exact market value per spoctrac.

17 mill per year was Youngs expected deal.

Wow. This isnt new information either.

It will have 0% effect on resigning Breese when the time comes. Zero. None

Give your whole shtick a rest for a bit.
