Good is a stretch.

It’s not. He was good overall. Great? No. But he had a good year and they are paying him like that. Great DEs are getting 30+ now.

You about 10 years behind on pass rusher salaries. Top ten all make over 20 mil a year. He was also top ten in QB hurries last year. Yeah i get it he didn't get as many sacks as you would like. But we just signed a former #2 overall pick that is only 25 years old to a contact and didn't overpay through the nose for it.

There is plenty to dislike with this team right now. This one isn't even top 20

I will say we disagree on what good means. He got fairly consistent pressure. He had a nice year.

The Saints are all in, again. Break out the champagne, we’re going to win the division.

This is appropriate pay for him. If you are going to pay, pay the 26 year old

Just give Rattler the start and pay for talent on D and O.

Whether or not you like the signing, I think we can all agree on one thing. Thankfully Loomis did it before the new year so they don’t have to eat all of the dead money from the last contract, plus the 20% bonus money, and salary from his current contract all in 2025

Maxx Crosby just got 3yr, $106.5 mil

Young’s less than half the player Crosby is. This is fine as long as he’s healthy. Probably the only guy offenses will focus on stopping

CB is low-key moving up the need lost on the draft board for me. A boundary CB is probably essential in this draft.

Why dont you check some other stats, they exist and he was clearly really good last year if you watched.

the Saints were behind a lot and Young didn't get a chance to rush the passer as much.

The Saints also were horrible against the run last year.

I think the Dline will be better coached this year. Todd Grantham is a fat guy who went back to the college game.

Young will need to play the run better and do his part, but he'll be limited overall if the Saints suck again against the run as a whole.

Hopefully Bresee can expand his run Def and not leave the field.

For reference, Young at $17mm/year AAV and 5.5 sacks:

Dayo Odeyingbo- $16mm, 3 sacks
Alex Highsmith- $17mm, 6 sacks
Bryce Huff- $17mm, 2.5 sacks
Khalil Mack- $18mm, 6 sacks

Pretty damn fair market value
