Makes their reasoning for trading up on day three in the draft even more valid.

I don't think we have a 3rd or a 4th next year as is.

NB4
Loomis will package them to move up in the 3rd to pick a small school kicker that can't win the starting job.

Saints’ 2024 draft-pick puzzle is already pretty wild, thanks to a number of trades. Here are the 8 picks currently projected.

1st (their own)
2nd (from Broncos)
4th (comp)
4th (comp)
5th (their own)
6th (their own)
6th (from either Eagles or Titans)
6th (comp)

these are PROJECTED. As of now, we don't have a 3rd and 4th rd pick is my only point to remind people of our current draft pick status for next year.

Still can’t believe we lost a third round pick b/c these idiots didn’t wait a few weeks to sign Dalton after the deadline.

Had some nice talent this year in that round.

thats good news at least, i was thinking they might have balanced out to none after we seemed to have signed the same amount of players to replace those who left

well he had several teams interested in him, and he wasnt going to sit on a promised offer that might not happen after waiting that long, so i cant fault them for not waiting.

im sure there was no way to have a concrete deal established with guaranties to satisfy him enough to wait, without violating the NFL rules.

Can someone remind me what happened to our own 3rd round pick next year?

Edit: I really don’t remember losing it lol

Edit 2: Nvm, Loomis caved and gave it away in the Sean Payton trade

Lol.

Just embrace the haters. Ive come to realize some people on here live to downvote people.

It's like their only contribution to the site.

I’ve watched Football all my life and wrapping my head around the compensatory picks I’ve never done to where I understand it.

same here, i used to think it was lose a player get a pick, lose a player but sign a replacement player you get no pick, but its got more to do with where each of those players were originally drafted, regardless of their talent levels

If this last draft has taught us anything it's that payton had a major hand in trading up in the first few rounds for the small school players. We only picked up one, and it made complete sense considering his position.

The Comp pick process is too antiquated. They should do away with it completely and just add an 8th round to keep the NFLPA happy. It would equate to the same amount of players taken in the draft.
