You must have not seen the video of CDA and Loomis (Two separate youtube vids) where they both say they were actively trying to trade up with the 29th and 40th but things just didn't work out.

FWIW I'm glad teams were asking a king's ransom to trade up this year, It's quite possible they were aiming at trading up for Bresee who fell to them at 29.
The Saints will make (or try to make)trades on draft day, That, death and taxes are all you have.

I bet they were trying to trade up for Myles Murphy. If they had, there's a good chance we could've still nabbed Bresee with our 2nd pick, or possibly Keanu Benton instead. Comparing the careers of Murphy and Foskey will be interesting.

There were a ton of other quarterbacks still floating around just as good or better than Dalton. He only signed for 3.5 guaranteed. Hard to believe he was in that much demand that he would take a salary that small and could not wait.

Payton would've paid that ransom lol. Payton/Loomis/Brees are the reason this franchise was/is able to reach the heights that they have reached. I don't dislike Payton. I'm also not blind to his fault like some of you though.
