Its a dumb statement but he won't back down.

The Ditka bears had the most dominating run to a Super bowl I've ever seen. How many did they win?

The mighty packers. How many with the best QB in the league?

Harboughs 49's team that had such great talent and several div wins how many?

Dan Marino and that absolutely loaded top to bottom with talent team how many?

etc etc

I see the Byrd and Colston issue as giving the vets time off from camp to save their legs...I hope.

Personally, I'd prefer to get there and win it than to get there and never take one home. Everyone differs on that stance though.

You sound so mad.

Congrats on that Jairus Byrd signing though. I hear y'all have the best secondary in the league.

meh i kind of like all the doubt right now. last year we went in thinking super bowl for sure. it got into everyones heads. i think last season was an eye opener for everyone.

i much rather the chip on our shoulder than the lofted expectations.

Byrd was really bad while playing, but he didn't forget how to play football. I'll go with the 5 year sample size as a top 3 safety over 4 games as a bad one. His starting the offseason on the PUP is concerning, but there's plenty of time before the season for him to get some reps in.

And Lewis, Byrd, Browner, and KV is a really talented bunch. Even if KV plays like shite again, the secondary should be above average. I'm worried about our pass rush for the first time in two years, though.

Did he play well when healthy? Is he on the PUP list again? Those are two known factors at this point. Him being a healthy and effective player for the Saints is an unknown at this point.

He was disappointing in that 4 game sample but based off his overall body of work it's reasonable to believe that was an anomaly and him struggling to adjust to a new team.

I'm not reading too much into this. May be purely precautionary. If he's injured all season again we definitely struck out and Falcons fans (nd Saints fans for that matter) are right to have a field day with our shitty free agent debacle.

Payton didn't want to get into why Byrd and Colston landed on PUP. But doesn't anticipate they will spend a long time on PUP

Byrd needs to get more playing time in Ryan's defense, but these guys are smart, older vets. Missing a small portion of early camp is no biggie.
