The Florida dbs are always 10yr+ guys.

Love this pick.
Now you don't have to overpay vonn bell if he asks for too much

we are not getting a colston or strief with a late rounder this year

exactly

consolidate and trade up and get 3 contributors now!

we have a starter and now a contributor at S

now we need a Wr or maybe LT?

I have zero faith with any WR behind MT.

He was a beast against LSU this year

11 tackles 1.5 for loss and a sack

Yeah I’m not huge Bell fan. He has his moments but they are pretty spread out.

Last year he was far more consistent, but the issue becomes can we afford him with everyone else coming up.

We needed depth, we got it.

The only thing left is DL and WR to shore up. The UDFA will be a murders row this year.

That’s a great pick IMO. We need insurance behind Bell. Underrated pick up

He's insurance for either safety spot or slot corner. If his personality "red flag" doesn't become an issue, this pick was ideal.

NFL Comparison
Nate Allen
Overview
Big, athletic defensive back who requires tape study from 2017 and 2018 assess his optimal usage. Some teams will see him as a big slot defender who can blitz, support the run, handle zone duties or play man on big receivers and matchup tight ends. Others will see him as a Cover-1 high safety with the range and ball-tracking to take it away over the top. Gardner-Johnson is too often a step behind in his reads and reaction allowing completions that could be breakups. His versatility and talent could make him an early starter with a high-ceiling if he can put it all together.

quote:

Strengths
Frame is long, tapered and well-built
Smooth, athletic and agile
Impressive versatility to play slot, high safety and down safety
Eye-balance between his target and the quarterback
Easy mirror transitions from slot
Quality burst to close short and deep
Adjusts angles effectively to play the ball
2017 tape shows high-safety range
Talent and size to neutralize mismatch tight ends
Above-average makeup speed
No hesitancy as a striker
Size and power to separate receivers from the ball
Quick to trigger and support the run
Weaknesses
Backpedal a little tight and upright
Footwork can improve in space at safety
Creates coverage holes with excessive drops from high-safety
Gets over-extended and will lose balance in coverage
May lack footwork and instincts to handle shifty slots
Over-committed and cross-faced by Georgia twice
Caught by bait-and-bite fakes underneath
On-ball production doesn't match the traits
Relies on athleticism over anticipation
Just a step late to jump the throw and challenge the catch
Troubling missed tackle total over last two years

Has really good coverage skills, but not afraid to hit and give run support at the line of scrimmage. Great value pick this late in the draft. He and Marcus Williams should be a good combo.

Chauncey really excelled as a nickelback. He wanted to be a CB early in his career but struggled. He was ok at safety but really great as a NB. If saints use him correctly he will have a great career. Can’t believe he dropped to the 4th round.

He talks a lot of crap and shows off so he’s one of those guys you love to have on your team but hate them when they’re on the opposing team.
