SuperDome is now a piece of shite and it looks bad and dark on TV. Even with upgrades, still gonna be dated.

I know this will be downvoted to hell because it always is but check it out. You should bookmark this post so you can go back and read it in a decade or so. I'm telling you, right now... If there is no new stadium or plans for a new stadium (and honestly, it should be right where the Dome is right now. Hell, make it retractable and still call it the Superdome, who gives a frick?) - this team is gonna be somewhere else.

Future Bills stadium, 2026: $1.35 billion.
Allegiant Stadium, 2020: $1.9 billion
Sofi Stadium, 2020: $5-6 billion including development around it.
Mercedes-Benz Stadium, 2017: $1.6 billion
US Bank Stadium, 2016: $1.061 billion
If you think the person(s) who spends $4+ billion on the Saints is gonna be happy with the 1975 built Superdome, prepare your anus. All those $100-400 million upgrades we've cobbled together over the last 20 years should have been in an escrow account to pay for what the next guy is gonna demand. I don't care how many windows or escalators you put in it. The time is coming whether you like it or not. Will Louisiana be able to answer the bell?

The Superdome location is ideal
It's the main reason money continues to be pumped into it
Once all the renovations are done it will still be a worldclass stadium that can host Super Bowls

The Superdome is not iconic. It's a relic from the 1970's dome craze like the Kingdome, RCA Dome, Silverdome, and Astrodome. All of which (minus the Astrodome) have been torn down and replaced.
Hey look, you can keep it forever if you want. St Louis still has the Edward Jones Dome (built in 1995) just sitting there. Oakland still has the Coliseum. San Diego tore down Qualcomm. But either way, one day the Dome will join all of them as places the locals thought was iconic that ended up without an NFL team.

Not exactly.
During the Mike Foster administration (1996-2004) Tom Benson began bitching about the state of the Superdome and commissioned those artwork/renderings of a possible new stadium in two locations-- one on the west bank in old Algiers and another site where the Iberville projects are located. Benson also started flirting with the idea of building a new stadium just over the state line on the Gulf Coast of Mississippi.
The state in 2001 proposed a commitment to build a new stadium, to be completed between 2009 and 2011, if the Saints still insisted they needed one. Under that offer, the state would have had to approve a stadium by the end of 2005 or the team could pay a penalty and leave.
That offer was never accepted. Instead, late in 2001, Governor Mike Foster and the state worked out a 10 year deal to pay the Saints subsidies and undertake a study of a new stadium.
Things changed, of course, post-Katrina. Before the Foster 10 year deal was up, Governor Bobby Jindal and the Saints negotiated a new deal, which included $85 million of renovations to the Louisiana Superdome, and Benson purchasing the Dominion Tower (and New Orleans Center) Benson had to renovate the Tower and leased its office space back to the state at a sweetheart rate.

Silverdome : It was a carbon copy of the RCA dome...
Superdome is not even comparable to those relics..
