we need a blocking specialist...that is all

Usually this is correct for most teams but this team loathes one dimensional players.

I would feel very certain that they will have a good comp. in camp for the 3rd spot.

As far as 'wasting F.A. pics' I have not seen that behavior from this front office at all. Sorry.

Zach Strief #64 of the New Orleans Saints drops a pass in the end zone while Ryan Clark #25 of the Pittsburgh Steelers watches during their game at Louisiana Superdome on October 31, 2010 in New Orleans, Louisiana.

So we need a 3rd reliable TE???

We have an upcoming stud at TE and an extremely reliable 2nd TE.

Sure, let's waste time in FA for another so we can roll three deep at the TE spot. More important positions to worry about in FA this year.

You don't understand the meaning of depth, esp for a team that has never carried fewer than 4 TE since payton's been here. We need another guy for the rotation and relegate humphrey to #4 spot

No one is saying get a #1 TE. Get a veteran backup so we dont have to keep guys like rhonnie ghent on the roster

Yeah we won a championship with darnell Dinkins catchign balls. We were never really 3 deep last year there was probably liek 3 games where shockey and graham played. no Graham is sick and THomas is reliable and we will throw in another OT when we need a real blocking TE

No way we need a new tight end. Thomas and Graham are definitely solid TE's. Especially Graham. He's gunna have a huge season

Saints will be fine if they find a good blocking TE. Idk about Graham, but Thomas can't block for shite.

Might be the year of Tyler Lorenzen. They said if he was Brees bodyguard for 2 years they would give him a shot.

Bonus: he would be a much better #3 emergency QB than Lance Moore.

PS- Thomas could be UFA depending on how the CBA works out. If he left, then a bigger name FA could be possible.

Of those not so high profile or expensive I kinda like Ben Patrick

I just fricking love this translation by some people.

"Saints need to bring in/add a TE to our group"

"What do you mean we need to spend 7 million dollars on bringing in the NFL's most elite Free Agent Tight End?"

"Um, No, we just need to add another guy to our team maybe one that is more blocking oriented."

"Dude we got graham and thomas, they are the elitist of the elite, we don't need tony gonzales here"

Why would we pick up another? Our offense doen't need another TE IMO; Graham's got Shockey's spot this year I think.

Agreed

I would not ride on the TE depth we have; Graham's not known as a blocker (yet) and Thomas is very solid and reliable as a catcher but isn't a fantastic blocker. Need a TE for depth and he needs to be a good blocker.. those are almost never big name TEs that make boucoup money.
