Thread title "Saints Need a New TE"
No we don't NEED one. It would be nice to have an additional guy, sure, but it would always be nice to have an additional guy at any position. Wanting help and saying we NEED another one, are two completely different scenarios.
Moron my arse....

Teams carry more than two TEs on roster. What the hell do you think a team does on goal line situations? I'd be willing to say most teams have at least 3 on their active roster and one on the practice squad.

Really??!?!?!?!! I had no idea
I wasn't saying we only needed 2....learn to read. I was making the point that we don't necessarily NEED a new TE. Many other positions rank higher than TE on the list for off-season FA

I'm not so sure. With the draft we had, I think the rest will be OK. Bushrod is always suspect, but maybe Brown is coming into his own.

Screw it, let's put Reggie at TE.

If you are getting a blocking TE, who cares if you have higher FA needs, its not like you're breaking the bank for the guy.

The fact that we use Strief and Brown as blocking TEs does lessen the need

3 page thread arguing about backup TE position? Yeah must be the offseason

Why?? Payton obviously prefers Strief over a traditional blocking TE and honestly it has been working REALLY well. Why would we want to bring in a another blocking TE when the team has other areas of concern.

Seriously bro??? This one play is why we should replace Strief with a traditional blocking TE??
Would you rather have crap arse Darnell Dinkins or whatever his name was filling a spot. Look Strief can fill 2 roles (very well I'll add) with ONE roster spot. He is a quality resrve OT and a very good run blocking TE.
I would MUCH rather Strief out there on running plays opening up holes for Ingram then some FA "Blocking" TE.

YOU DO frickING REALIZE LAST SEASON WE HAD 3 TIGHT ENDS AND STILL HAD frickING STRIEF ON ROSTER? I'M NOT CRAZY ABOUT THE 3RD TIGHT END ON TEAM ALREADY SO I WANT AN UPGRADE THERE. AND STRIEF THE ELIGIBLE BITCH CAN LICK MY BALL SACKS. I'M TIRED OF THIS DUDE WHO HAS BEEN A 4 YEAR PROJECT WHO COULD NEVER CRACK THE LINEUP.
There I said... and I went caps on you.
