Becton signed with the chargers, and he has never played LG in his career anyway.

Choices are getting a bit slim. The best guy left is Teven Jenkins, who has played LT and LG. But he is set to meet with the Seahawks soon.

After that it’s Brandon Scherff who has been a RG for his career.

So at this point it’s a bunch of journeyman backup types, the Draft (which may be the play here), or Trade.

Mickey hates going into the draft with a glaring weakness so I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s making calls about a competent Guard.

Just draft a guy and develop him. We’re sure as shite not a LG away from doing anything.

Trade back in 1, get a 3rd.

take 2 3s, trade up in second.

Second round should get you a starter at Guard.

Dalton Risner - 0 sacks and 0 penalties last year, PFF 22nd ranked guard. Has played R & L

Will Hernandez - has played R & L, tore ACL in Week 5. 91 career starts, excels in pass pro

Both only 29. Wouldn’t hate going 2-3 years on either. Same with Jenkins

Bring back Lucas Patrick as depth. Matt Pryor is another one to watch. Has played both guards and tackle, journeyman type who started for the bears last year. Graded out 78 in pass pro and 66 in the run

We're drafting an OL I would bet a nut on it.

I thought Patrick did OK as guard. Not at center

If I’m not mistaken, Patrick was one of the top ranked guards for the first two weeks last season. Then all the injuries happened and everything went to shite.

So u want to waste the 9 pick on a left guard? With the holes in this team? Terrible allocation of a top ten pick.

Just pick Donovan Jackson or Milum in the 2nd. If we pick membou I’d hope we move penning to LG. But that’s just me.

He created this mess and still has glaring weaknesses at QB, TE, WR, G, DL, CB. I’ll be generous on Penning for now.

We have 2 players that would start on 25 plus teams in Fuaga and McCoy. It’s a garbage roster.

I’m not advocating for the pick. I will say membou gives us a possibility of a RT if we lose penning and membou does have the mizzou connection to Moore brother

Name them. Hint: Demario and Jordan over 35 aren’t near what they were and aren’t starting for many this season.

2nd, 3rd and 4th round is prime for finding a LG in the draft this year.

Zabel, Mbow, Ratledge, or Donovan Jackson could probably step right in as a starter.

They will look to the draft for OL, not worth giving up picks or anyone worth $15m. There will be plenty of serviceable G in the mid rounds, which we have a few picks…

I don't understand it either. There seems to be little effort to upgrade the oline. Unless they see something in Hergal and/or Ezirim. Ezirim is interesting and a physical specimen long and quick footed. Due to few snaps on the oline he was considered a stash and train in last years draft.

What I would like is penning and Patrick at guard. Draft a dominant left tackle, and then put fuaga At right tackle.

It's taking him forever just to be half assed at right tackle. Can't see why they wouldn't want to ...ideally at least, put him at guard this yr.. Hell, him and Patrick are g would be potentially Decent.
